President Obama has few remaining friends—either in his own party or in the media.
That’s the unmistakable conclusion of two pieces this week in the New York Times. Just about everyone, it seems, is down on his single, solitary nature.
I’ve been saying for a year now that the president’s liberal media allies have soured on him. It started with the ObamaCare debacle and continued through his seeming passivity or slow reaction time in the wake of the VA scandal, the Bowe Bergdahl mess, the military collapse in Iraq and so on. At this point they’re basically Waiting for Hillary.
What is striking now is a growing sense, fairly or unfairly, that Obama is not capable of rising to the occasion, that he just doesn’t like politics, that he’s disengaged, that despite his soaring rhetoric in 2008 he has a passion deficit.
All the criticism about him playing golf and being at Martha’s Vineyard is kind of a code for his supposedly being unplugged from the job.
A Times news story opens with a killer anecdote about the president meeting with Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell, which turned to Democratic complaints that the GOP was bottling up a number of Obama’s ambassadorial nominees.
“Mr. Obama quickly dismissed the matter. ‘You and Mitch work it out,’ Mr. Obama said coolly, cutting off any discussion. Mr. Reid seethed quietly for the rest of the meeting.”
Wow. And the nut graph: “Nearly six years into his term, with his popularity at the lowest of his presidency, Mr. Obama appears remarkably distant from his own party on Capitol Hill, with his long neglect of would-be allies catching up to him.

A couple of days ago I had the news on TV in another room, so I was only hearing the sound. One of the Administrations spokesperson ditzes was on. I was struck by how uncertain and defensive that person sounded, and how the press, while not aggressive, was asking questions that caused them to respond nervously.
I was also thinking about how it seems that every Presidential Press Secretary — Earnest, Carney, and starting with Gibbs— seems worse than the last.

Let's be honest about this. Barack Obama was never supposed to be a real president in any sense involving leadership or executive capacity. His only purpose was to read idiotic nonsense off a teleprompter and sign any legislation that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid sent to his desk. Even the defining legislation of his presidency -- "Obamacare" -- should more appropriately be called "Pelosicare" because it was drafted by staffers and lobbyists affiliated with Democrats in Congress.
This is why Obama's presidency effectively ended after the 2010 election. Without a Democratic Congress to tell him what to do, he's resorted to doing what he does best when confronted with a situation that requires leadership, competence, or even a shred of intelligent thought: NOTHING.
The Marxist has always been JV. Lazy, loves fun, hates work. Yet arrogant. I’m guessing every teacher/professor who had him in their class knows this well, but were paid off not to state it publicly.
Could it be, does not want to interfere with a drugged high or a "liaison" interlude.
Part of me wonders if Obozo’s antics are part of the plan to pitch Hillary in 2016.
The left can’t push its full agenda through a candidate who’s up for election or when a major election is around the corner. After the mid-terms pass, Barry will be free to go town and decree everything that the liberals have wanted to do. He can be their lightning rod so that the liberals in Congress can save face.
In 2016, the left disposes of him like a dirty diaper and Hillary emerges as an “alternative” - who will coincidentally be against repealing anything that Barry has done, but that’s how the media will spin her candidacy. You can already see this playing out in spats over foreign policy.
The ignorant American public, too stupefied to tell that Hillary is simply a continuation of Obozo, vote her in for office, and we get another 4 years of socialism.
Let’s be realistic: you can’t even count on the Republicans to provide token opposition these days. Glenn Beck is showering the illegal invaders with gifts; Willard Romney the open socialist and Paul Ryan are off promoting an amnesty book. Boner and the gobbler (McConnell) are wringing their hands.
I could almost understand the Democrats having to manufacture their own opposition.
If Democrats and the press are souring on Nobama, they’re hiding it very, very well.
It appears to me that to those in his party and especially to the press, Nobama has a perpetual “Get Out of Jail Free” card which allows him to waltz through scandals, errors, and incompetency unscathed.
