Last Thursday, the rapper Nelly went on the air of his hometown hip-hop radio station, St. Louis's Hot 104.1, to announce a college scholarship fund for local teens in honor of Michael Brown, the unarmed black 18-year-old killed by a policeman earlier this month. Nelly also took the opportunity to mock the looters who have flourished since Brown's death, saying, "We don

The author is in denial. Sounds like the regular people have it right. Comments at the article certainly don't agree with her.
Had a acquaintance who was a professional black woman and she was very strict about making her kids dress properly.
I read the article. The author TRIED to pinpoint the problem. She TRIED to offer solutions.
But she failed.
With crap like this; no one can take her seriously....
Clark went even further. No one treats African-Americans worse than we treat each other, he said. We were outraged when George Zimmerman killed a black boy, but Zimmerman was taught by watching black people kill black people. He learned it from us. We planted the seed.
It was a sentiment I heard again and again in Ferguson: Yes, the largely white police force acted egregiously
I stopped reading at the word “rapper”.
Crime does pay , college scholarship for you and you and you
This is so profoundly psychopathological it’s scary.
It starts one way, veers another, then head straight off the ultra-Marxist cliff.
In my day, looting actually meant something

****Michael Brown, the unarmed black 18-year-old****
He was not unarmed - he had two massive arms and, if the reports on the police officer’s orbital fracture are accurate - Brown used his weapons first.
Gates is perceived as "respectable" for another reason, too: He prefers sportcoats to baggy pants. On that day in 2009, he was wearing a red polo and dark slacks, and still he was cuffed and thrown in jail. No amount of grooming changed the fact that he was a black man in America.
Wasn't Gates without his wallet, and wasn't he apprehended trying to break into his own house?
It seems to me blacks can do one of two things—
1. continue to blame everyobody else for their situation (a strategy which hasn’t worked one bit)
2. or they can take an honest look at themselves, admit their problems are primarily only ones they can solve, and try to do that.
>> No amount of grooming changed the fact that he was a black man in America.
Sucks to be black in America. That’s what I’m hearing.
Slavery was a really, really, really stupid idea. That is a hard truth. America screwed up messing around with it. Slavery was (and is) immoral and evil.
Now, a couple thought questions: how much better off would America be now, if we had never been so short-sighted as to import blacks and enslave them?
~AND~
How would the average African-American have fared, over history, if we had never brought their ancestors over to this country and they therefore ended up born and raised in Africa?
Things that make you go, “hmmmmmm...”
And it was a neighbor of Gates who called the police. If the neighbor didn’t know him why would the cop?
They still equate acting civilized with acting white. So long as they demand that the civilized majority accept criminality as being no more than cultural differences to be accepted, even celebrated, they will be regarded as barbarians by civilized people of all ethnicities.
She’s at the apex of success in respectable wealthy elite American society.
That her schizophrenic-like ramblings are taken seriously is telling.
“Crime does pay , college scholarship for you and you and you”
How many of the looters do you think are or will be going to college? How many will even finish high school? Methinks that scholarship fund is going to collect a lot of interest before the first dime is spent.
“I was bothered by this conclusion:

Gates was not thrown in jail.
.
The fact that so many feel the need to “honor” Michael Brown or Trayvon Martin is also part of the problem. The default assumption is that they both were “saints” just because of their race, despite all the evidence to the contrary. In every other community, sainthood is not granted to a thug. Most people are relieved when the cops take out the trash.
Further proof that there’s nothing stupider on the planet than a White Liberal.
