Dozens of mothers staged a nurse-in at an Oregon restaurant in protest on Sunday after a manager asked one woman to cover up while she nursed her baby.
Erin Klein said a manager at the Ram Restaurant in Happy Valley asked her to cover up as she nursed her 11-month-old, because other customers had apparently complained....

My father loves to tell the story about when he and my mother were newly married and at a family gathering; a distant relative of my mother’s flounced herself into the room and flopped her huge breast out to feed her baby in front of him.
My mother snarled, ‘How dare you flop that thing out in front of my husband. If you don’t flop it back in your blouse, I’ll do it for you- and I guarantee you won’t like it.’
She stuffed it back in her blouse and left the room. LOL
She got her comeuppance- and how. If more of the public would take this approach it might put a stop to some of these wackos.
All I’m saying is; if you must feed your baby out in public, go into another room (nobody wants to hear the slurping or see the mess. (if that’s not possible, cover it up- all of it. And we don’t need any little ‘oops’ glimpses.)
If you want to be an exhibitionist, go home and do it in front of your husband or other interested parties.
Most of the general public is not interested and find it offensive.
Father of five.
Breastfeeding in public is fine ...just use a nursing blanket
Early puberty boys will be oogling your plump leaky melons otherwise
That might get you randy and all but it’ll piss off his mom I can promise you
Women are real particular how much sexuality mature felines demonstrate to their own young testosterone addled cubs
But as for your objecion that a few babies nurse sloppily (you mentioned slurping and mess), consider that that applies to other blameless folks (people with cerebral palsy, very elderly people who cough or drool a bit) and that is no reason why they should not be allowed to eat in a restaurant or any other public venue. Their care-givers should of course be sensible and get them seated where they won't bother people or be bothered by people --- just as a sensible nursing mother would do.
But as for normal breasfeeding, it would be truer to say,
"Most of the general public is not interested and find it offensiveinoffensive." Most of the general public doesn't think a modest woman with a baby nestled to her bosom is gross.
I don't see where we disagree except for the indication that you wish to disagree and display some sort of moral outrage/superiority.
Please accept my apology. After rereading your comment #12, I see that I was interpreting your comment without considering the whole context of your remarks.
I’m sorry.
Apology accepted and all forgotten.
I need a wall poster to place over my desk: “Make sure Mind is in gear before putting Mouth (or typing fingers) in motion!”
I saw a woman cover and breastfeed at lunch today after church
Thought nothing of it.....covering is good manners
Ms Klein ....of course.....feels different....we must all view her leaky teats
My early puberty boys would love her exposures
Of course Ms. Klein would also be first to yell what are you staring at perv?
I cant count the late night runs ive made for O.B.s since late 70s
Its what u do fer luvvin
I will assume that those Women were absolutely Gorgeous nine Months before their Children were Born, or all their Husbands are Blind.
