Violence continues in Ferguson, Missouri. It began on August 9 with the death of Michael Brown, an unarmed African-American teenager cut down by a white cop’s bullets. Peaceful demonstrations turned into looting, the local police went in with rubber bullets and tear gas, all hell broke loose and, eventually, Missouri’s governor pulled out the local police and sent in state officers instead. But the rioting only paused; it didn’t cease. And it may continue. That’s probably because it’s driven by a deep, deep anger that will take a long time to calm.
Observers might ask, “How can this be happening in an America that has elected a black president?” How can black kids still get killed by white cops and how can towns still burn in race riots?
Part of the explanation is that the recession has been especially tough on African-Americans – reinforcing historical disparities of wealth between the races. Before the credit crunch, the median net worth of a black household was $12,124, compared with $134,992 in white households. After the crunch, the black net worth fell to just $5,677, compared with $113,149 among whites. Black home equity fell by an average of 28 per cent and retirement savings by 35 per cent. In May 2014, the black unemployment rate stood at 11.5 per cent – more than double the white jobless rate of 5.4 per cent.
To make matters worse, blacks face additional challenges at home and in the streets. There is a crisis in black fatherhood: while just 29 per cent of whites are born out of wedlock, the figure is 72 per cent for blacks. One result is a racial imbalance in welfare dependency: African-Americans make up about 13 per cent of the population yet 39.8 per cent of those on welfare rolls....

Well then instead of trying to hide, he and his buddy decide it's a good idea to walk down the middle of a street instead of using the sidewalk. A police car arrives and tells this clown that he and his buddy should get out of the street. Instead of assuming he and his pal might be wanted by the police, and getting back on a sidewalk and getting lost, this mental giant decides to ATTACK!!! the policeman and get his gun. He gets himself shot and killed.
Now if this had been a white kid who had done all these incredibly stupid things, how many white people would be blaming the police for the white kid getting himself shot and killed? Can we say nobody but the kid's parents?

As someone in law enforcement told me, any white person who doesn’t have a concealed carry permit is crazy.

It looks just like Ferguson.
Like one guy was saying, he’s a 216 pound baby. Exactly right, no parental supervision and he grows up with the emotional makeup of a toddler. “I want this, it’s mine and you can’t stop me” No different from a baby in a shopping cart grabbing things from the shelves, same mentality.
What get’s me though about these riots is they just do not make sense. Cops all the time, every day, shoot blacks for any number of reasons, from robbery, to assault, any number of reasons, but THIS one causes massive rioting, looting? No no no, something else is at work here and I highly suspect it is the Obama administration enflaming these communities to draw attention away from him. That and it works into his agenda of destroying the US internally. Same with the Trayvon case. How did that suddenly become inflamed? Clear cut case of self defense, happens every day, 1000s of times, yet THAT one suddenly explodes nationwide? No no no, there is something really sinister going on behind the scenes in this country.
The truth is: blacks victimize themselves. There has been Affirmative Discrimination I mean Action for fifty year with many incompetent or underqualified blacks placed in positions ahead of more qualified non-blacks. The Klan isn't riding around anymore. There are no racist southern pols promoting segregation or violence against blacks. While blacks used to be virtually ignored in entertainment mediums i.e. movies, tvs, commercials, they've now far overrrepresented in those things. Where are the Hispanics in those commercials? They're now a larger "minority" than blacks. Fifty years ago it was extremely rare to see a black person in a commercial or reg. tv show. Not it's rare to see a commercial where there is not a black person. Blacks have their own cable network. Most of the popular music is by black entertainers. (Not that I listen to any of it...it's mostly rotten (c)rap or hip-slop.
In short, in the past fifty years blacks have gotten everything they've wanted from a supposedly racist America, and they're underrepresented in academic achievements and overrepresented to a great degree in criminal statistics and dependence on government.
It wasn't supposed to be this way. After blacks got everything they wanted and more as far as favoritism, half the black population cannot live up to the standards as set by a civilized society. White liberals are aghast. Fifty years ago they promised the country everybody would be equal. That didn't happen. Black crime and dependency on gov. continues to soar.
But never blame blacks for their problems say the libs. We'll still blame evil, racist whitey for all their problems. It's worked in the past, but it ain't working so good anymore. I have to believe even many libs finally have the blinders taken off. At least I hope they do. Then maybe we can make some real progress with racial relations.
There was a culture war campaign ad piece run during the Watergate campaign. It didn't single out "black riots", there was footage of "white riots" too. And not all of it "anti-war" or even "Sunset Strip" riots (those were still years to come).
