For the past several days, some children in Ferguson have seen a slain teenager on the street, killed by a police officer, a childhood symbol of protection. Theyve witnessed police in riot gear in clouds of tear gas, night after night, heard barking dogs used to try to control the unrest, angry shouts from protesters and police. They have heard shots fired and seen a building burned, glass shattered.
I know that in the coming days, weeks and months children will continue to re-experience this, said Marva Robinson, president of the St. Louis chapter of the Association of Black Psychologists. Its not just those living nearby, but also those who have been watching the news with their parents. Children could have nightmares for years to come. They may be hypersensitve or hypervigilant around law enforcement, Robinson said.
From their parents, they may be hearing about how their community is treated unfairly, targeted or hated. Instead of new backpacks, they may carry a sense of devaluation, anxiety, fear with them too as they head back to school.
What is the eventual impact of being exposed at a young age to violence and a feeling that the police cant or wont protect you? You build up a wall of mistrust. You are closed off to persons of authority. You find it hard to trust the guidance of school professionals or others who may want to help you. You see them as part of a system that killed someone who looks like you or doesnt care about children who look like you.

Bawawawawawa!!!!!
Hopefully, some of them will be introduced to reality and become determined to break the dependency cycle.
From the article: “...a police officer, a childhood symbol of protection”.
Proof time travelers not only walk among us, they scribble for newspapers.

I’m sure the looters will hand out some of the stolen backpacks to the kids./s
.
I wonder what these children are seeing everyday in their homes with their parent?
There has ALWAYS been a bias against the police among the black communities in or near the larger urban centers of this country, look at any major metro area. Even years of outreach have not made much headway in overcoming this basic distrust.
The situation was not improved in the years when the counterculture ran rampant on college campuses and in government centers. The visible guardians of the existing local and state governments were the first targets, and the tactics evolved to continue to give the police power of the municipalities and states had to escalate, if chaos were not to prevail. The clash at the Democrat national convention in Chicago, in 1968, was instructive as to whom the counterculture considers to be the REAL enemy. And by all odds, their insurrection bore fruit, which they have enjoyed for years, dominating the dialogue in the Democrat party even today.
The chaos grows less contained daily. Soon the armed citizen shall be the ONLY bulwark against the horde.
Lock and load. The cops won’t be responding.
Be prepared for any “unpleasantness” that comes your way. You are responsible for you and the ones you love.
It takes village to warp a child.
Being part of the culture blacks are creating is frightening enough. Cops are the least of their worries. Those little black children are far more likely to be killed by older blacks. ...The children would be well served if the cops killed all the gang-bang blacks.
How will it change their children? Will the next dead thug who goes for a cops gun still have a pacifier in his mouth?
Don’t you mean - more likely to be killed by momma new ‘boyfriend’?
BTW - it not as bad as the media makes it out....

Sadly, many of these children were not conceived to have a childhood or grow into industrious adults. They were conceived as meal tickets for the parents and thus receive little nurturing.
This, Junior, is how we get a new tv.
this is perverted. the guy was a criminal thug who just robbed a store.
“Uncle Remus”
by Frank Zappa
Whoa, are we moving too slow
Have you seen us, Uncle Remus
We look pretty sharp in these clothes (yes we do)
Unless we get sprayed with a hose
It ain’t bad in the day
If they squirt it your way
‘cept in the winter
When it’s froze
And it’s hard if it hits...
On your nose
Just keep your nose
To the grindstone they say
Will that redeem us
Uncle Remus?
I can’t wait ‘til my ‘fro is full grown
I’ll just throw away my dew rags at home
I’ll take a drive to
Beverly Hills
Just before dawn
And knock the little jockeys off the rich people’s lawns
And before they get up
I’ll be gone, I’ll be gone
And before they get up
I’ll be knockin’ the jockeys off the lawns
Down in the dew...
I’d bet the farm that the Nazi whore, Aisha Sultan, cheers every black abortion.
And by all odds, their insurrection bore fruit, which they have enjoyed for years, dominating the dialogue in the Democrat party even today.

And witness also the cop haters right here on FR who claim to be conservative. One even used, in a recent comment, the old 1960s hippie epithet of “pigs”.
