“despite having had no complaints from guests.”
So WHY are they even taking this action?
40 years ago, my late husband and i did a lot of motorcycle trips around the Eastern part of the USA. There was ALWAYS a Gideon Bible in the nightstand of the Super 8, Motel 6, or motel room where we would stay for the night.
Even the timeshare units had them.
Now, I notice...not so much.
I’m “offended” that Travelodge doesn’t want to “offend” the easily “offended” atheists, “openly gay” homosexuals and Islamofascists. That’s okay, motels are a dime a dozen. I don’t need to stay at a Travelodge. They discriminate against Christians.
Travelodge has now offended me and I, for one, will never stay in another Travelodge. Being "politically correct" is starting to piss a lot of people off, and I hope this comes back to Travelodge and bites them in the a$$.
One of Britains biggest hotel chains has removed Bibles from its rooms to avoid upsetting non-Christians.
Will they remove cable tv? There’s lots of stuff on tv that many find offensive. The should definitely cancel “Pay Per View Porn.”
I know, if you don’t like it you don’t have to look at it. Say, that goes for the Bible as well!
Typical liberal tolerance. They want diversity by exclusion of a certain group. Nice. I’m offended.
First Subway in the UK allows ONLY Muslim “Halal” meat to be served and no bacon in it’s stores in Subway and now taking the Bible out of hotels. Basically they are scared of Muslims and this is their way to cower from them so they don’t get beheaded.
Jews have found Christian bibles in hotel rooms for decades. It wasn’t us..... Hint hint hint
Never understood why Bibles were in hotel rooms. Always figured that if you wanted to read it, you carried it with you.
To this...
In one, dumb move...
Marriott has a Bible and The Book of Mormon.
Some other chain also did that the other day. I can’t remember who.
Sad.
But they’ll still offer on demand porn?
But they’ll still offer on demand porn?
What seems stupid to me is making an announcement about it. Few would of noticed if they just took them out quietly.
Almost like they’re making a point or something...

Go for it. The navy put bibles back on bases.
I am willing to bet the “real” reason was the cost of replacing them.
This is disingenuous. If there had been any complaint, they could have just kept Bibles at their front desk, for anyone who wanted one.
So, put this in the column of “anti-Christian bigotry.”
I cannot believe anyone would stay at a Travelodge.
The places are so nasty most of the roaches have even checked out.
I travel all the time. No way would I consider staying at one of these dumps.
