Would I be “acting white” if I asked why in God’s name are black people looting and destroying their own neighborhood in St. Louis? Would I be a sell-out if I asked why stealing all the tennis shoes from a sporting goods store would make a point for justice for a young man who was killed allegedly by a cop?
Would I be an “Uncle Tom” if I asked why burning a gas station, breaking into at least one convenience store, including a check-cashing store, a boutique, a small grocery store, a sporting goods store, a cellphone retailer, a tire store and a Wal-Mart would make things better? Would I be behaving stupidly when I told you that between 20 to 25 Walmart employees took shelter inside their store Sunday night as rioting and looting ran rampant in the area around them?
Would it be wrong to ask why people carted away goods from several of the stores, even as police moved in? These are stores located ] in this area — often at their own peril. These proprietors — small business owners — often live in the area or darn near close to it. Neighbors stealing from neighbors…shamelessly destroying their neighbor’s property as though they were released from bondage in order to pillage and plunder.
Police were having a difficult time catching the looters because crimes were happening at several locations. And it all started with a peaceful protest.

The area isn't too far from the Metrolink route, so thugs could easily be showing up from as far away as Illinois.
Ferguson is about 11 miles from the Arch.
It is less than 2 miles from the St. Louis city limits.
The children of those 540,000 missing citizens of 1950s St. Louis now populate the St. Louis "metro area."
As far away as East St. Louis?
Are you counting the airport? I live in St. Charles so my memory could be hazy.

This isn't all black people, but all the rioting looters are almost always black. Go figure.
Then go armed.
Sat next to Col. West on a flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Cincinnati. He was going to make a speech at Miami University. We had a wide ranging conversation through the whole flight.
I knew of him before - but after that opportunity, I’d follow him anywhere. Few men have that kind of poise, character and clarity of thought.
I know some truly great people. He ranks up there with the best.
He deserves a top level role in setting the direction for our country.

But no, I was thinking Jennings couldn't be more than 2 miles across, and it's right next to Ferguson and also right on the St. Louis border.
Obama youts, would look just like his son if he had one.
What makes me think that it was organized was that the looters arrested were all from out of town.
That makes me think that someone called them up and said “flash mob looting at ferguson tonight”.

Honestly, they’ve been empowered for the last 30 years. They can do as they please. They can gather in groups and beat people dead with impunity. Hell, the press won’t even mention what color they are. The poor dears...
I heard a report on the area in question early this morning. Evidently the community is pretty tight. Blacks there don’t want problems with their neighbors. The Whites and Blacks there seem to get along. It’s about 65% Black and 30% White. Hey, if that’s the straight scoop, I’m not going to knock it.
Don’t forget, the family of the killed youth demanded folks stop looting and destroying the neighborhood. That should tell you quite a bit right there.
Are we white for asking why the looting to start with?
