It was implausible to me that Barack Obama never knew Rev. Jeremiah Wright hated Jews. At best, Obama made a deal with this anti-Semitic racist, who helped Obama launch his political career.
Still, back in 2008, Jews — displaying the cognitive dissonance of a captive Democratic voter bloc — gave Obama the benefit of the doubt for the same reason most Jews continue to support him: he’s (half) black. Jews favor underdogs and victims (though really, Obama is neither).
As many Jews assimilated into America over the last century, some downplayed their Jewish identity — changing names, intermarrying and, most of all, converting… to the secular religion of liberalism. Although Jews became leaders in the civil rights movement, black anti-Semitism persists; leftist Jews don’t see to care that the Congressional Black Caucus is largely anti-Israel, as was the last Democratic National Convention.
There is a double standard. Obama’s first foreign policy act was his “apology tour” to the Arab world. Obama then favored the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and opposed its moderate successor government. Secretary of State John Kerry similarly snubbed moderate Arabs countries and bypassed the Palestinian Authority to curry favor with Hamas. Imagine if Secretary of State Jim Baker had done the same thing during George H.W. Bush’s presidency.
Following World War II, the myth had persisted among Jews that FDR was a bold leader who helped save Jews, when, in fact, he was a feckless polemicist who was indifferent to the Holocaust. Republican Sen. Howard Taft’s principled opposition to the ex post facto Nuremberg trials was misinterpreted. That same older generation of Jews also thanked Democrat Harry Truman in 1948 for recognizing Israel and faulted Republican Dwight Eisenhower for pressuring Israel during the 1956 Suez crisis.

Good analysis.
It’s always amazed me how these radical Leftists, after gaining control of the levers of power as they did in 2008, invest far more time and effort into attacking Jews and destroying Israel than in trying to build their Socialist Utopian dream at home.
Obviously they’ve got some real Hitleresque bug up their rear ends about the Jews.
Most American Jews are leftists first, Jews second and Americans third. That’s why.
The Arab world, no doubt, had their "suspicions" verified, that Obama was WEAK, WEAK, WEAK.
But then, MOST of the rest of the world had those same "suspicions." He was the circus monkey of the world representing us. He WAS elected TWICE so we have only ourselves to blame.
We'll get another Democrat circus monkey unless the GOP can come up with someone who can actually WIN the presidential election.
Reading David Horowitz’s life story helped explain a lot. His parents were out and out socialists and champions of Stalin. Some tragic life events led to Horowitz seeing the light.
But a majority of leading Jews of today were reared in that socialist milieu.
Why did so many Jews serve as police in Nazi-held territory in WWII?
My guess is.. they’re engaging in an appeasement of the beast in order to be killed last.

The only thing "progressive" about Obama's "fundamental transformation of the United States of America" agenda is that it's progressively destroying the America that we know and love.

If what you write is true, then your answer is more of a “what” than a “why.”
We know the “what,” from the stale records from each election.
The “why-don’t-the-facts-of-previous-help-or-harm-to-Jews” affect their voting choices at elections question has yet to be answered.
For example, compare the sum of the efforts by GWB and BHO towards Israel, and then compare their respective Jewish Voter totals.
This variation of Jewish masochistic insanity remains unanswered.
The Israelis too wanted to be ACCEPTED so they gave the PLO land, weapons, money and everything so they would be loved in the Oslo Peace Process. For that love seeking, 1,000 Israelis were murdered and 5,000 injured.
Jews, need to stop bending over backwards (or forwards) for love and acceptance and get on with the business of being Jews and not wannabe anybody else.
Inertia and most Jews live in Democrat majority urban areas
From a deeper perspective, Jewish Democrats are demonstrating “Exile” behavior. Exile behavior is identifying with your oppressor and looking to your oppressor for solutions. In Biblical times, it was said that 80 percent of the Jews that were slaves in Egypt remained in Egypt rather than make the difficult journey to freedom and liberty to the Holy Land with Moses. After the Jews established their own country in the Land of Israel, they had two Holy Temples destroyed, and subsequently they have been in exile for the last 2000 years. Part of that exile has included relying on governments to protect them from Christian anti-Semitism, protection that often never materialized. As they say in the State of Israel today, a Jewish country with Jewish leadership, “You can take the Jew out of the Exile, but you can’t take the Exile out of the Jew.” So in the United States, with the exception of the Orthodox Jews, who identify with conservative family values, Jews that vote Democrat are essentially expressing more faith in government than in Divine Providence.
This last election, most Jewish Democrats, proudly wore their Obama yarmulkes, and voted for the president’s re-election. The exit polls indicate that about 60 to 65 percent of self-proclaimed Jews voted for Obama. That’s down from the usual 80 percent number. As they said in the 1970s in New York, “Jews dress Episcoplian, and vote Puerto Rican.” However, many less-blind Jews who voted for Obama in 2008, had buyers remorse and weren’t so comfortable with the out-of-control spending and Obama’s tone on Israel. While these Jewish Democrats probably wouldn’t assert that Obama is anti-Israel, they do question whether he holds the Jewish State in much esteem. It is significant to know that Obama is very unpopular in Israel and he has never visited there during his presidency.
So at the end of the day, for the Jews who vote Democrat, they live out their religion by being a liberal and voting Democrat.

Jews who have very little tradition to cling to have wildly grasped every movement for change in the last 130 years. They led all the revolutions in Politics, Sciences, Arts and culture which peaked in America with the Civil Rights Movement, the Women's Lib movement and the Anti-Vietnam War movement.
With a grounding in Jewish values, these folks took the concept of Social Justice to an extreme where they supported every Liberation movement or fashionable movement there is, except, their own Judaism and Zionism. They championed the underdog (and still do). If that means supporting the Paleostinians in their war on the Isralei Jews, then so be it. Jews are supposed to give some form of JUSTICE to the Paleostinians by dying. Today it is completely out of whack. Today you see Jews supporting the entire gamut of “rights” and “Justice” oriented causes. Everything from the ACLU defending Islamic terrorists to the Whale's Rights to Eat copious quantities of Krill. The Jews are out there championing every cause, every movement and every form of change from Vegan Lesbian Domino tipping, belly-button lint collecting, urine storage for Green Energy Gay dog motor transport to Lobster exoskeleton shedding rights up to Rice Krispy snap, cracke and pop rights. You name it and the Jew will be there defending it, no matter how outrageous or absurd. Why? Because the Torah centered, Jewish humanistic experience has gone out of control.
Voting for BHO is just one sad example. Jews need to get back to basics and toss off the Politically Correct BS in order to be loved by others and gain acceptance. This Justice driven obsession needs to be reigned in and gain perspective.
Justice again is merely a spinoff from the Judeo-Christian Ethos. It does NOT mean that everything and every way of doing things is OK. It means balance and proportion in what causes you champion.

Leftism is strongly correlated with high population density the world over. Israel, the favorite socialist country of conservatives, has a size and population density similar to NJ. High population density living is communal. City dwellers own very little personally and share their buildings and transportation. Jews mostly live in cities and the modern Democrat party caters to the interests of the commune dwellers.
