Shocking. RIP. He always seemed like he had an undercurrent of sadness to me, like so many comedians.

I guess Mrs. Doubtfire 2 is a no go.

“seemed like he had an undercurrent of sadness to me, like so many comedians.”

There you said it.

To those that have never lived with depression, they don’t understand. I know it very well.

“..Now there’s some sad things known to man
But ain’t too much sadder than
the tears of a clown
When there’s no one around..”

Depression is a horrible thing.

Feel pretty low about this. Always liked his work. I was a kid when “Mork and Mindy”, and I laughed my ass off at that show.

And who could have played Peter Pan better? No one. Jumanji was another madcap movie with Williams, and one of my favorites.

I don’t know his political leanings, and don’t want to. I just remember him as a very funny comic actor, who also had a damned fine dramatic side.

I’ll miss him.

RIP.

Robin Williams could make you laugh until your sides hurt, and your beer is exploding out your nose! Robin's acting chops for serious roles showed he was not just another funny face, but his way of slipping his very liberal politics into his stand up humor always stuck in my craw.

I make fun of a lot of folks I agree politically with but I never make fun of their beliefs because those are mine also. That is a line I will not cross. Robin Williams crossed the line too many times to count, especially on George W. Bush and Sarah Palin.

Now, he takes his own life. I know depression. I lived it for a long time and know how it can be a struggle just to get out of bed. That said, while I have empathy for his plight, I do not have any sympathy at all for his solution.

And to top it off, the media will wring this out until they hope there is not a dry eye in the house. His death pushes all the other news off the page.

God help us when Whoopi goes--

Yes, I can see that too now that you mention it..
The sad clown.

And with an actor/comedian its hard to tell if its their real selves or not until something like this.
