Former Vice President Dick Cheney lashed out again at President Barack Obama on Sunday, repeatedly accusing him of projecting "weakness" abroad and "crippling" the U.S. military.
The frequent Obama critic told radio show host and GOP megadonor John Catsimatidis that he traces "most" of the problems of Washington to the current administration.
"They can't blame George Bush anymore," Cheney quipped on AM 970 The Answer's "The Cats Roundtable." "I think he's been a failure as a president. I think the scandals, wth respect to the Veterans Administration, with respect to the IRS, these are bad situations."
Nevertheless, Cheney said there were "even worse" things going on in the Obama administration. Cheney, a foreign policy hawk and former secretary of defense, claimed cuts to the defense budget have created a particularly dire set of circumstances.
"There are even worse things going on in my mind. One is the absolute gutting of the United States military. I just read a piece this morning in the Stars and Stripes that they're getting ready to lay off 500 majors in the U.S. army," he said. "Not long ago they did the same thing with a large group of captains."
Cheney said Obama's successor would ultimately pay the price for this military reduction.
"They're dramatically cutting back the defense budget, year after year after year," he said. "That's a terrible precedent to set because it's going to cripple us in future years. When you make decisions about the defense budget, and especially when you're cutting back on it, you are crippling your successors as president."

Want to bet!!!!!!!!
The ministry of propaganda will conjure a way which will be specious at best yet will work with the brilliant, intellectual, really-really smart Independents and Progressives. (They just love to pull that lever for Communists.)
IMHO
If he slices a golf ball badly on Martha’s Vineyard back nine, pResident Manchild could say out loud, “George W. Bush!” and the MSM would then blame George W. Bush for the bad shot and half the country would nod their heads and curse George W. Bush for wrecking the game of golf.
Why don’t they ALL stop talking about blame and instead tell us what they’d do RIGHT NOW to stop the genocide?
Why is it always Cheney opening his mouth? Where the hell is GW? The only time I ever heard that idiot say something was to promote amnesty. All the vets who died, were injured, maimed for Iraq and this piece of rat slime Obama gives it back to the Islamo-Nazis and GW focuses on freakin’ amnesty instead? Where is the outrage Mr. Former President??
“When you make decisions about the defense budget, and especially when you’re cutting back on it, you are crippling your successors as president.”
That’s the plan, Dick.
Cheney said Obama’s successor would ultimately pay the price for this military reduction.
Just like Bush and the people paid after Clinton.
These are the same people who actually reported yesterday that Michael Sam ALMOST made some good plays.
Out with the old guard, in with the new. Homosexuals will be promoted to fill the officer ranks.
Oh yes they can and will blame Bush until the day they die. But the last day Obama and his goons had the slightest basis for blaming Bush for Iraq was the day they failed to negotiate, or require, a reasonable size US force to remain in Iraq.
Everything that’s happened since is all on the idiot Obama. All the lost territory, all the displaced people and all the beheadings and other gruesome murders of innocents. That all belongs to Obama whose stupid and reckless withdrawal of all US troops set all of this in motion, then put it on warp speed by his failure to attack the ISIS forces as soon as they began invading Iraq.
Funny how the article says that Cheney “lashed out at Obama” when Obama just lashed out at Bush without rebuke from the MSM.
Kind of like when a congressman said “YOU LIE” to Obama in a SOTU address just after he called his critics liars.
Oh, come ON, Dick! Of course they can. And they will!
Clearly, Mr. Cheney has vastly underestimated the capacity of the Current Regime to invent new “revelations” about the Bush Administration, that make every current sweeping indictment of the colossal and epic failures of The Won, only the inevitable consequence of some policy or precedent Bush had put in place.
The mistake is in assuming that the Current Regime uses ANYTHING like logic or critical thinking in making their grand (delusional) conclusions.
That alternate universe must be a most wondrous place to dwell, though it may be impossible for a mere outsider to obtain a visa to visit there in person.
Restating the Limbaugh Theorem: Nothing, ever, is Obama’s fault. Everything is reasoned from that one central datum. The Current Occupant tries at all times to picture himself as the “beleaguered outsider”, campaigning against some perceived defect or another with the way Americans have always run things.
Before jetting off for two weeks vacation, President Obama laid the blame for the Iraq crisis at the doorstep of the Bush administration.
Six years of destruction to America unabated, and nobody wants to lift a finger to arrest him, impeach him, convict him, cut off the money, override him, assert their Constitutional authority,...nothing - zero - zip - nada.
obama always blames others. See the article posted here:

Bump! Read the tag.
I just read what Obama said the other day about Iraq. It was BUSH’S fault because BUSH negotiated a complete withdrawal of forces. So Obama had to abide by that agreement with the Iraqi government so Obama is blameless for the bloodshed and genocide.
This after Obama bellowing “I pulled the troops out of Iraq and ended the war.”
