The presidential visit brings excitement to the island and businesses hope for a visit from the famous family.

That was a legend, but what is going on in the White Hut and throughout the Current Regime is most definitely NOT a legend, however mightily we may wish it would be so.

Where is the comparison chart of Obama vacations vs. Bush Vacations? Would be nice to see frequency, cost to taxpayer associated, and “type” of vacation - I know that GW often went to his ranch in Texas (much to the chagrin of the press corps) - and while there often did actual WORK - like clearing brush and such.
I would also like to see how many vacations the rest of his family/household took (without him) vs. the Bush White House. Moochelle taking their girls and dozens of their closest friends on taxpayer-funded junkets...

These are the actions of a self-absorbed child. He doesn’t like the job. It’s way harder than he thought it would be. I could actually have a little respect for him if he came out and said that he was resigning. This running away from his responsibilities is the action of a chickens**t.
Be a helluva lot more exciting to see a lightning bolt get him.

As much as this guy plays golf it would be nice to know what he shoots. You would think a journalist out there would at least ask what is his handicap. Has Obama been posting all of his scores? These are questions that need to be answered as the American people have a right to know.

“Mulligan” is a very real presence in the Cabinet of the Current Occupant. Never seen, makes no public statements, but holds a most inordinate influence on the affairs (or arrears) of state.

I’ve thought about that as well. I don’t recall President and Mrs. Bush go on any vacations except to Camp David or Crawford. The LSM always made a big deal about him going to Crawford, yet, it didn’t cost extra for houses/hotels for them or the SS agents or WH staff. IIRC they had rooms for SS and I believe he built a building for meetings and press briefings. I also don’t recall him taking a huge fleet of autos with him wherever he went.
As contemporary presidents all have done - there is a rather large contingent of vehicles. It is just part of the deal any more. BUT - as you pointed out indirectly, the current occupier of the White House has grown the presidential travel corps exponentially - and drags them all over on their family vacations, all on the taxpayer’s dime.
The term for Obama is “Hubris”...
We will never know - Obama cannot tell the truth about anything. And the press corps is so beholden and bent-over for him, that they will never tell (at least not tell the truth).
