Holy, Holy, Holy
August 10, 2014
They do not rest day or night, saying: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come! Revelation 4:8
Time flies when youre having fun. This cliché has no basis in fact, but experience makes it seem true.
When life is pleasant, time passes all too quickly. Give me a task that I enjoy, or a person whose company I love, and time seems irrelevant.
My experience of this reality has given me a new understanding of the scene described in Revelation 4. In the past, when I considered the four living creatures seated around Gods throne who keep repeating the same few words, I thought, What a boring existence!
I dont think that anymore. I think about the scenes they have witnessed with their many eyes (v.8). I consider the view they have from their position around Gods throne (v.6). I think of how amazed they are at Gods wise and loving involvement with wayward earthlings. Then I think, What better response could there be? What else is there to say but, Holy, holy, holy?
Is it boring to say the same words over and over? Not when youre in the presence of the one you love. Not when youre doing exactly what you were designed to do.
Like the four creatures, we were designed to glorify God. Our lives will never be boring if were focusing our attention on Him and fulfilling that purpose.
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity! Heber
A heart in tune with God cant help but sing His praise.

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
Psalm 130:7 & 8

Since I am in Florida, it is not the hills that I look up to but the cloud mountains for “Whence commeth my Help!” God Bless all good people this day and always and may our faith give us His Strength to surmount our troubles!

I rested today - I didn't sleep well last night. I'll possibly get some dirt time after Mass tomorrow. Daniel has harvested a lot of Roma tomatoes from the back garden so I'll be making some sauce tomorrow for dinner.
I go in for an epidural Tuesday - the arthritis is advancing more rapidly now. It may be time for a different approach.

O gladsome light Of the Father Immortal And of the celestial Sacred and blessed Jesus, our Saviour! Now to the sunset Again hast thou brought us; And, seeing the evening twilight, [We bless thee, praise thee, adore thee!] We hymn the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, God. For meet it is that at all times thou shouldst be praised by voices undefiled, O Son of God, who givest life: All the world doth praise thee.
