That certainly seems consistent with actions and WHO statements to date.
Cold it may be but locking it down and letting it burn itself out has always helped to limit the numbers.
With Barry and the ‘RATS welcoming everyone to America along our southern border, I don’t think it will be long before we have an Ebola outbreak here in Arizona. No biggie. We’ve already got bubonic plague and hantavirus. What will it hurt to have Ebola too?!
You know, it seemed like they gave that guy in NYC an “all clear”, but this AM in the NY Post I saw the results weren’t yet back.
I wonder how he’s doing.
Of course I hope he’s fine, or getting better, and I certainly hope he doesn’t have ebola.
But, well, I’m taking a freak out and wait approach to this whole situation.
When does the next season of The Walking Dead start? Or has it already started?
Well there’s “The Strain” on FX and “The Last Ship” on TNT.
Love that expression! On a more serious note, it's hard to think this is an accident. It starts in sparsely populated areas of poor locals, not people normally flying around the country. Maybe they're all just that damn stupid but makes you wonder.
The World Bank on Monday pledged $200 million in emergency funding to help the West African nations...
Just $200M ?? Chump change! Heck, We the Taxpayers have given three times that amount ($671 million during the 2014 fiscal year) to house and feed the poor widdle chilrens coming across our open border.
Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
What is motivating these people to do this at a time and place where it is almost impossible to come out of this unscathed? Not that it's not commendable - just asking.
Health/life post/thread BUMP!
“It starts in sparsely populated areas of poor locals, not people normally flying around the country. Maybe they’re all just that damn stupid but makes you wonder.”
It should not make you wonder. Many epidemics start that way. Bubonic Plague knocked around the Mid-East/Africa for centuries until weather conditions made its spread more possible or it mutated slightly.
There is no need for a conspiracy for this to happen.
The obama administration has acquired all of the ingredients required for a Hollywood disaster movie, except it will probably have to be filmed Australia and released in the US on video disk or flash memory.
I read her book.
But on another thread the CDC said this breakout is manageable (or some such language.)

A 'scrub' team.
Their job is to destroy all the evidence that US companies were testing engineered strains of ebola against new serums. This involved human testing and would look bad. They thought no one would notice, with cover from the 'common' ebola that the locals were dealing with.
Anyway, things got out of control, the virus infected some of the doctors, regardless to the amount of protection they had. They were brought back and given the serum which was being made by the company that stands to profit from the virus spreading.
They just weren't ready yet. The virus was, and made the first move. You are watching the results unfold.
Evidence for this please???
LITERAL ‘bring out your dead” notice: Liberians dumping ebola bodies in the street. PLUS, eight people who’d come in contact with Patrick Sawyer, who flew home to the US, were showing signs of Ebola.
