The empirical evidence of an airborne Ebola Strain is overwhelming
Hat Tip GWP - Patrick Sawyer was the American businessman, who contracted Ebola while working in Liberia, then collapsed after he got off a plane to Nigeria and died July 25. He was the first patient in Nigeria with the Ebola virus. The Nigerian authorities have refused to release the names of other passengers on the plane with Mr. Sawyer, or notify the media of their status.

It was proved to be airborne in 1995.

the monkeys in a completely different room caught the virus from the labs air conditioning system.
The nurse who is now coming back with EBOLA never saw and infected patient she just spray cleaned their contaminated suits
It’s AIRBORNE but you don’t have to believe it just go breathe some air in the good Ebola docs room.

“If they are developing serums and infecting monkeys for testing, and have been for years, doesn’t that mean that Ebola has been in the country for a while?”
Perhaps it has been. With the super secure and highly professional CDC involved what could go wrong?
I think you’re very close to being right. The middle class was great for building up resources. It took skill and sweat to create new technology with tech being generational.
Now that we’re approaching a point of technological rapidity, America’s middle class is simply not needed to produce anymore. Basic resource creation can be done by cheap ignorant peasants while a small middle class can do the smart footwork and a select elite can sit atop the mountain and live a life of avarice.
Some virons can survive in insect hosts and others can't. I do not believe Ebola is in the "known to survive" category and this mode of transmission has not been demonstrated. Dengue and Yellow Fever, of course, use mosquitoes as a primary vector of infection.
If it was airborne then the results would be exponential.
Lab rats? All can catch it by bumping noses.
This like other things has the fear mongers spinning the facts already. Has aids gone airborne? Hepatitis C? Obama?
it pops up every year...but is contained by isolation. this year, its moving with traveling folks.
Ebola is just the price we will have to pay for our enriched diverse society. No price is to high. Remember what Gen. George Casey said, “What happened at Fort Hood was a tragedy, but I believe it would be an even greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here.”
It looks we have had Ebola virus in the U.S. for years and have been infecting monkeys for testing, so bringing in that American doctor hardly introduced it here.

In an article entitled Growing Concerns Over ‘In the Air’ Transmission of Ebola, the British Broadcasting Corporation reported the following in November of 2012 about airborne transmissibility of Ebola:
Canadian scientists have shown that the deadliest form of the ebola virus could be transmitted by air between species.
In experiments, they demonstrated that the virus was transmitted from pigs to monkeys without any direct contact between them.
The researchers say they believe that limited airborne transmission might be contributing to the spread of the disease in some parts of Africa.
...
One possibility is that the monkeys became infected by inhaling large aerosol droplets produced from the respiratory tracts of the pigs.
One of the scientists involved is Dr Gary Kobinger from the National Microbiology Laboratory at the Public Health Agency of Canada. He told BBC News this was the most likely route of the infection.
“What we suspect is happening is large droplets - they can stay in the air, but not long, they don’t go far,” he explained.
“But they can be absorbed in the airway and this is how the infection starts, and this is what we think, because we saw a lot of evidence in the lungs of the non-human primates that the virus got in that way.”

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Ebola, one of several hemorrhagic fevers...these all result in acute induced scurvy. And these hemorrhagic fevers only occur in a few species. All primates, guinea pigs and bats are susceptible. These are the only mammals that do not naturally make their own vitamin C. Scurvy is preventable and/or treatable with vitamin C. There is a cure for Ebola and the other hemorrhagic fevers massive doses of vitamin C. The quickest way to saturate the body with enough vitamin C to kill the Ebola virus is with intravenous vitamin C up to 500 grams (500,000 milligrams) per 24 hours. And follow up with large oral doses.
Dr Robert F Cathcart, III, MD is an expert on using vitamin C to kill viruses and heal patients. Dr Thomas Levy, MD, JD is another expert. Both would use IV Vitamin C for these viruses.

Back in the 80’s the Russians militarized Ebola from accounts which means it was meant to be spread via airborne.
Heh! Very British. Have you seen “Threads”? I used to live in Sheffield where it was filmed.

The most likely route of infection of the control monkeys was aerosol, oral or conjunctival exposure to virus-laden droplets secreted or excreted from the experimentally inoculated monkeys.
This is not airborne transmission. The virus' ability to infect was dependent on being surrounded by oral and respiratory fluid. This is "direct contact with secretions", not airborne transmission.
It is widely accepted that sloppy procedures within the compound could have spread these secretions in the study you cite.
Yes, if they actually completed that program true aerosolized Ebola would have been created.
The current outbreak in West Africa matches the strain endemic in fruit bats of the area — natural strain.

I’ve read an enormous amount of literature on the Ebola virus over the last 2 decades and much over the last few months and I don’t care what “Rush” has to say, and I really don’t care what YOU have to say.
Show me proof that it is anywhere as virulent while airborne and currently infecting people ANYWHERE as an airborne variant and is killing people and maybe I’ll be interesting in your absurd tripe, but until I see verified proof that your assertions deserve anything more than derision, I will simply laugh at you and your ignorant tripe!
