Clint Dielder former NFL player, “tea party” guy, 2010 Senate candidate and unsuccessful 2012 nominee for State Land Commish, faces Dan Newhouse a former state legislator who served as Rat Governor Christine Gregoire’s Agriculture Director (I don’t like that) in what the media is calling “tea party versus establishment” while bemoaning that the “promising democrat” failed to make the runoff.

Dielder is notably endorsed by Mark Levin (eh), Ron Paul (yuck), National Association for Gun Rights, and Freedomworks. Newhouse’s listed endorsements are all local.

I presume Newhouse will win since rats will be able to vote in the general and will likely oppose the “tea party”. I can’t say either candidate thrills me.

In CD 1 the “Republican nomination” is still to close to call, wealthy former Microsoft exec Pedro Celis, the party’s preferred choice, trails Robert J. Sutherland a “libertarian-minded” biochemist and Air Force vet. Celis is criticized for running an “invisible” campaign. The large amount of outstanding votes are mail in, counting will be slow. I don’t like mail in voting.

The “right to farm” amendment in MO passes by only a couple thousand votes. Opponents fear it will harm regulation of puppy mills and erode restrictions on foreign ownership of farmland (which to me sounds unconstitutional and easy to get around anyway).

Opponents of the new lottery game feared it would decrease revenue from other games (which all go to school funding, which I don’t think I agree with).

1 amendment I failed to mention that passed 3-1, extends protections against “unreasonable search and seizure” to electronic data, cops will need a warrant. There was no organized opposition to this amendment, I can only imagine the rationale of the 25% who voted against it.

The GOP nominee for heavily rat MI-14 is named Christina Conyers, former naval officer. She should be running in MI-13 against John Conyers!!!!

Yeah, I’ve actually looked at his record. He’s never been on the “far left” in his career.

The only thing about Roberts that I recall is that he was being "played" by Jay Rockefeller on the Senate Select Intelligence Committee during the Bush administration in what became known as "memogate."

Rockefeller authored the famous "pull the trigger" memo that was found by staffer Manuel Miranda that laid out the Democrat strategy of using their minority powers to tie up the committee in fishing expeditions to gather data on Bush. Roberts was willfully ignorant that the Democrats would be secretly trying to undermine his "bipartisan" committee that he was so proud the chair.

Eventually, Orrin Hatch caved to Democrat pressure and had Miranda fired for discovering the memo in an unsecured shared committee server, rather than using the contents of the memo to question the Democrats' behavior. It was yet another example of how Democrats pressure Republicans into not playing strong cards that are dealt to them.

Well, yeah, and Probably. But there is two bits, at least , of good news. First is that these old GOPe horses actually had Tea Party backed challengers. The second is that the same old horses are all, every one, sounding like born-again conservatives. They clearly are seeing skid marks in their own undies and the pressure is bound to show up in their proposals, if any, and their votes. But for the seriousness of it all it’s entertaining to watch these big spenders yammer about controlling spending.

And remember the Tenth Amendment: all non-specified power is reserved to the people. If they double-X us we can have our own provisional court and go get them.

The GOP owes Terry Bowman big time. He was a primary mover and shaker behind RTW in Michigan and he did it from within the union.

If their is one race that Levin, Beck, Ingraham, Bennett, Prager, Hewitt, Hannity and Palin need get behind it is this one.

Forget about the E-GOP, what they did to Bentivolio they would do to Terry in 2 years. He won't pass their go along to get along test. Frig-um, We need to help Terry across the line in spite the GOP Establishment.

If the GOP can't make a stand to end the Dingell Dynasty then the will not stand for anything, and we SHOULD start another Party at that point.

Tim Huelscamp in the 1st Congressional District had a LIBERAL primary opponent. The Ag people did not like Tim because Tim is NOT pro ethanol. Tim won.

There was a commercial by a super PAC, with a farmer telling his story how Huelskamp threatened his business, that might have hurt Huelskamp some. I wish Huelskamp would have made it more known that farmer owned ethanol plants here in Kansas but they made it sound like Huelskamp was threatening all farmers. They spent a lot of money against Tim but like you said, he won anyway. IMO, ethanol is worthless.

NOPE, the Tea Party is the problem. They cause division in the GOP primarily so that the Tea Party “leaders” can rob you and other naïve people blind, with fundraisers.

I respectfully disagree, it's not the Tea Party that is the problem. They are just the symptom of an out-of-touch-government problem. The leadership of the Republican Party is the problem. As it appears, we are not an opposition party to what is happening throughout our out-of-control governments and what is happening on the Tea Party side is that backlash to that. I agree, Roberts is conservative enough but he has been there so long, he is receiving some of the backlash.

The democrats strategy to try to save the Senate for themselves is to run 2 liberal against him, one running as an independent, sounding conservative, to steal votes away from Roberts. With all the deceit from the democrat party in recent times, I hope the people of Kansas see what they are up to in Kansas and don't fall for this scam.

Which is a good thing, since all of the challengers were either unknowns or leftist RINO puppets (see LaPolice in KS-1). The exception was Tiahrt, but he couldn’t provide the voters with a reason to return him to Congress over the capable incumbent, Mike Pompeo.

What does radiology have to do with a proven record of Conservative support, either in office or in the private sector ? Wolf had none in that regard, total unknown. Just nothing but campaign slogans, which are worthless without a substantive record. If Wolf had been active in the Conservative cause in Kansas and was a known quantity, he’d have had a reason to run.

No, she should be running in MI-13 against a Democrat who defeated John Conyers’s write-in campaign after John Conyers was ruled to have gathered signatures illegally. Alas, a liberal judge ruled that such rules were unconstitutional as applied to Democrats, and let Conyers on to the ballot, so we won’t get to find out how many clueless Democrats vote for a Republican woman named Conyers because they thought it was part of John Conyers’s plan to avenge his primary defeat. (In MI-14, BTW, we should start a whispering campaign that Mayor Lawrence stole the nomination from John Conyers and that Conyers fans should vote for his niece, who will then give the seat up to her uncle.)

I think that we should contest every election (you never know when the Democrat might croak or royally screw up), and obviously someone like Terry Bowman deserves our support. However, it would be foolish to sink a lot of money into that race because, let’s face it, Bowman is running a suicide mission. Dingell’s MI-12 gave Romney 32.8%, and will not be competitive this November unless Debbie Dingell starts throwing rotten eggs at auto workers and school teachers as they leave work every day from now until November (and she still would be favored due to the Ann Arbor vote).

If your intention is to start a new party if the GOP does not make electing Bowman in the MI-12 a top priority, then you should start gathering signatures, because the GOP won’t pull out the big guns in that hopelessly liberal district (and neither will any serious conservative group). Sure, conservative groups and the GOP each will give Bowman $10,000 or so, but it will be the type of perfunctory support they provide hopeless causes.
