Russia has called for emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council on Tuesday over what it called an urgent humanitarian situation in Ukraine, according to a report from the Russian news agency ITAR-TASS.
"We are convening an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine," Russian Ambassador to the U.N. Vitaly Churkin was quoted as saying.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said the U.N. and the International Committee of the Red Cross expressed "readiness" to discuss its plan to deploy a "humanitarian mission" to Ukraine, which some consider to be a pretext for an invasion by Russian forces.

Moscow has offered to send a humanitarian aid mission to eastern Ukraine under the aegis of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Russia’s UN envoy Vitaly Churkin said at the emergency UN Security Council briefing.
#Russia UN Council on #Ukraine : 1370 killed, 1000s wounded, 200,000 without water 800K Ukrainians fled to Russia
CNN actually has a reporter in Donetsk doing a live report.
#Ukraine diplomat at #UN : #Russia is to blame. It will all be good when Russia quits meddling.

It is 1939 again and here comes Stalin to protect Russian interests in the west. Bloody hell coming if Putin is not stopped.

Russia may be laying the groundwork for a Humanitarian intervention justification, should Kiev launch a full-scale attack on Donetsk, as seems imminent.
Of course, that is what I thought just before the Battle of Lugansk, too.
It means that Putin who is the cause of the problems in eastern Ukraine wants to be the solution as well.
LOL, well it could be the effective way to do an end run on the oh so caring world community.
Stay tuned...
Good to see you around.
Karma is a bitch.
Good to see ya. I hope all is well.
