Notice Who They are NOT Asking – Saudi Arabia Seeks Help from Pakistan, Egypt to Secure Border
Conservative Treehouse ^ | August 5, 2014 | Sundance

With the ISIS militant forces inching closer to Baghdad, Saudi Arabia has urged allies Pakistan and Egypt to send in troops to secure its border near Iraq.

Saudi Arabia shares a 500 mile-long border with Iraq and Syria.

“The kingdom is calling in favors from Egypt and Pakistan,” an adviser to the Saudi government told The Times. “No one is certain what ISIS has planned, but it’s clear a group like this will target Mecca if it can. We expect them to run out of steam, but no one is taking any chances.”

The ISIS has a strong control on Iraq’s western borders near Syria and Jordan.

And with the militants taking one town after the other in Iraq, the Southern border with Saudi Arabia could be the next possible target.

The Saudi Arabia border near Iraq frontier is vulnerable as it lies near the Anbar province, which is largely held either by ISIS forces or by tribes which have sworn loyalty to the Caliphate under Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Last month, The Telegraph had reported that the Saudi government sent in an additional troop of over 30,000 soldiers to the desert border to stop any advance from the ISIS.

Interestingly, the ISIS has often been seen as a group that flourished under the patronage of the Saudis. There have been allegations in the international community that Saudi Arabia covertly supplied weapons to the ISIS to fight Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

“ISIS has been a Saudi project,” The Atlantic had quoted a senior Qatari official back in June.

However, Saudi Arabia has rubbished all such accusations. An ISIS invasion of Saudi Arabia is still a far-fetched idea, however, the Saudi government faces the threat inside the country.

As per a report in Al Monitor, the Saudi home ministry had discovered an ISIS splinter cell in the country back in May. The government had arrested 62 men, most of whom were Saudi nationals.

I am rather ambivalent about losing Saudi Arabia as a "friend," but it is interesting that we are not considered trustworthy, or an actual ally of ISIS.

If anyone is wondering why the Saudis fear an attack, we have to ignore everything western journalists are focusing on. This is a religious battle, and they keeping their eyes closed about that. This is pure islam playing out, most especially, ISIS is an apocolyptic group. Muslims have their own end of the world prophecies, and unlike Christianity, where we wait for the coming of the end, muslims must act in order to bring it about. This is what ISIS thinks it is doing, bringing about the apocalypse. Part of bringing about the apocolypse is the prophecy that Mecca and the Kaaba will be destroyed by muslims. ISIS has promised to do just that.

Interesting. The House Of Saudi trashed all the tombs when they took over. ISIS has the chose of towns to hit. Defending against an attack is harder because it ties down the troops..

ISIS is a relatively primitive force. It is dependent upon the roads as it line of communications to keep supplied and maneuver its forces. ISIS is largely unable to move its forces overland away from the road system. ISIS doesn’t have an air force or logistics organization. If it tries to attack Saudi Arabia it will be in a world of hurt — particularly if the Saudi forces are reinforced by Egyptian and/or Pakistani forces.

My assessment is that ISIS will be looking for weaker targets for a long time.

The hajyra is about to be Duke Nukem’d.

The House of Saud is about to fall.

Obammmy must be having whip fits.It is ‘resident Obama who unleashed the dragon by invading Libya, which resulted in Ghadaffi being sodomized and murdered on video, an unacceptable, undeserved fate for a then US ally, who was greening the Libyan desert. How do you like it now Hussein Obama? The House of Saud wishes that you had never kissed the ring of the king, you dribbling idiot!

Obama is nothing more than a utopian, liberal fascist slob. Good riddance to him!

Am I wrong to think that Soetoro will aid ISIS any way he can?

I would disagree on this assessment.

ISIS has picked up the Nazi strategy of just driving into a town...picking out the mayor and top dozen leaders...and killing them. Toss in the school director and a few teachers....suddenly everyone is all happy to support ISIS. Same deal would work in Saudi Arabia. I don’t see any real Saudi security folks staying around after some regional commander is beheaded.

As for Egypt and Pakistan? Pakistani intelligence services would come with the troops, and there’s probably some ISIS insiders with them. One or two hits on the Pakistani crews, with public beheading of the officers, and the whole team would slide back and just let ISIS move on.

Egypt might be a player, but you’d have to talk about 20,000 troops....moving across a wide area of territory to get into the area of action. It might take two or three weeks to get these guys into position, and ISIS would already have taken half of Saudi Arabia by that point.

As for the US? The Administration would spend ten days discussing things, then reach for a committee to evaluate actions for another ten days.

All of this equals oil prices going up to $200 a barrel within a thirty-day period. If you knew ISIS was going for the five-star plan, I’d buy into various non-Middle Eastern oil companies for investment purposes and prepare for some good price deals.

Yet, if ISIS in fact goes after the two Holy Cities, it should inspire every single good Muslim on the face of the earth to act against ISIS.

You never know; the Saudis could be quietly planning their own ‘strategy’ against ISIS.

Well, I think that what you presented is a fantasy. But time will tell.

Yep, and this article goes along with a you tube video I recently watched that enlightened me about what you just said. Basically it was one of those “end times” vids where they explained why Saudi Arabia is Mystery Babylon, and gave some history of the geography/nations in biblical times and I believe it stated the anti-christ would come out of Turkey (seat of Satan is there)

The presence of U.S. Troops in Saudi Arabia (literally the Muslim Mecca) is one of the irritants cited by Osama bin Laden. The Egyptians and Pakistanis work cheap, and they are Islamic. The Saudis still buy their hardware from the U.S. because U.S. companies (if not the government) are far more reliable and honest than other offerers, and their goods are generally superior and no more costly. The S300 may be cheaper than Patriot, but the Russians are shifty and difficult to deal with, and the S300 only offers comparable performance on paper.

The threat is not that of a conventional attack. Who knows how much support ISIS has among the Saudi population or within the army?

Hmm. 4 or 5 years ago Saudi Arabia awarded a multi billion dollar border security contact. I remember because a friend works for a US company that bid on it and lost. (Friend was bummed because he might have gotten in on it, promotion, etc) So here we are, years later and what do they have to show for it? Apparently not much since they are having to ask for foreign troops to help with border security.

All those brave Saudi princes who hired the US to defend them from Saddam and made our people hide their Bibles can be totally on their own now as far as I am concerned.
