N.J. Logan is not to be trifled with.
This 80-year old Tampa grandma was resting her new hip after recent surgery upstairs in her home, when she heard a "commotion" downstairs and quickly realized it wasn't her husband, who was out playing bridge.
So she grabbed her gun, and ran to the steps.
I dont know what was going on in my mind. Honestly, all I wanted was my gun, she told WTVT-TV, adding that she really didnt want to have to shoot anybody.

Sure enough, a would-be robber had smashed her glass door with a rock and cut out the screen. She yelled at him and warned him that she had a gun. But when she called for help, she was stunned to hear their advice.
When I called 911, she kept saying, put the gun down, put the gun down. And I said, Ill put the gun down when I see the police, Logan recalled.
Damn straight! As we say, When seconds count, the police are minutes away. Nothing will protect a woman under threat as well as cold steel and a trigger.
It was a request that this tough grandma refused to fulfill while there were still likely one or more criminals in her house.
Her shouts seemed to have worked as the man or men were scared away, with police investigating.
And N.J. says theres no way shell be getting rid of her gun, especially after the scary incident. She told MTVT-TV that she is a strong believer in having guns inside your house because no one has the right to break into your private domain.
Ill definitely have the gun up there, she added, that is for sure.
First, I don’t dial 911 when I have important business at hand.
Second, I can only hope that I’d hang up before telling the 911 operator my response to such stupidity.
resting her new hip after recent surgery upstairs in her home,
Old gal had a surgical suite in her home?
Don’t they teach these folks how to write nowadays?
Just whose side is this dispatcher on...?
In a just world she would now be unemployed.
Home surgery, what will they think of next
You call 911 and tell them to bring the meat wagon, and to notify the coroner.
Do it yourself hip replacement...the local would have
to be awfully good.
A “Do it yourself” Kit... I guess the other choice was that pill Obama talked about instead of surgery... are those kits sold at COSTCO?
Thank God, and her gun that she’s OK no thanks to that dispatcher.
There should be some sort of a test to determine if someone’s an idiot before they are hired as dispatchers.
Now just a bleepin second!
If she had just had a hip joint replacment, she wasn't doing any running nowhere, nohow.
Walking maybe, with a cane.
Gimme a break.
Agreed
are those kits sold at COSTCO?
Yes, but look for one in an open box and you can
get it cheaper, someone probably just changed their
mind.
“Just whose side is this dispatcher on...?”
Really; haven’t enough people been killed by giving up/losing their guns to aggressors to make this absurd? The old adage that you turn over your wallet to an armed robber doesn;t have any bearing on this at all; she was willing and able to defend herself and her home, and that is the advice she gets?
lol

Having been born and raised in Tampa, trust me when I say it is a hive of Democratic villeiny - ironic, as many locals are conservatives.
The Stupidvisors of the Hilsborough County 911 program better get with the program and fire the wench who repeatedly told an elderly woman facing a home invasion situation to lay down her firearm. Had she so done, and was injured, that Democrap dominated community would have a new name, after Granny got a judgement.
Too bad we didn’t read about the ultimate happy ending:
Citizen: “I shot him twice, I think he’s dead.”
911: “Are you sure? We need to be sure.”
*BANG*
Citizen: “Ok, now I’m sure.”
They call it the Travon Test
“Sorry Granny, we’d rather have you dead than deal with another Trayvon. Nothing personal.”
She’s 80?
I’d hit that...
