Republicans believe that the deepening crisis in Gaza could ultimately loosen the grip that the Democratic Party has traditionally held upon American Jewish voters.
While declarations of a rift between Democrats and the Jewish community have proven premature in the past, things could be different this time, they assert.
Just in the last week, the Obama administration used unusually strong language to condemn the shelling of a United Nations-run school in Gaza, apparently by the Israeli military, and drafted a document for a cease-fire that Israeli officials denounced as favoring Hamas. Conservatives say the overall stance of the administration has created an atmosphere of skepticism in the Democratic base toward Israel.

I so hope this is true. In 2012, Republicans did make gains among Jewish voters relative to 2008.
Well, half a dozen or so.
The question is, will the veil of deception be lifted from enough Jewish eyes to make up for the influx of illegal RAT voters being ushered into the country by President Ebola and Joe Batin’.
We aren’t out in the streets threatening to kill them.
Whatever is happening is moving at a glacial pace.
This must be August. It's time for the MSM to revive those perennial summer stories of the "Man Bites Dog" genre. At any rate, this particular story has been running every August since the Wilkie Campaign. Was a great read then, and is great reading now! Unfortunately, it was fiction then and is fiction now! The only place these folks are apt to be drifting in August is on the gentle waters off Southampton and Fire Island.
In the pre-Word Processor days, a savvy City Editor could crank out practically an entire afternoon edition from mattes already made up and ready to go. Use to call it "Dead Horse."

Now most of the Jews live in solidly blue states. Maybe pushing Jews republican might affect Florida but the rest seem pretty blue to me. They can offset Florida with all the muslim voters they can pander to.
Is this the same GOP that wants amnesty?
“It’s not their votes, per se since they’re only about 1% of the population”
Keep in mind that American Jews are not proportionately dispersed among the general population. Their population is heavily skewed toward the northeast urban areas where their votes do indeed make a difference - often the difference.
Oh please. Never gonna happen. There has been even more screaming from the American Jewish Community AGAINST Israel than from the Dims.
I get so tired of “happy talk” sometimes that I could just scream.
Never happen.
Reminds me of that bogus story claiming that Bush was "within striking distance" of winning Hawaii in 2004.
They may distrust Obama. But 2 in 3 would vote for him again. And, certainly, 3 in 4 will vote for whatever moron anti-Semite runs for the Democrats in 2016.
Sure and large majorities of illegal immigrants are “culturally conservative” and thus natural candidates for the republican party.
Riiiiiiight...
I wonder why?
As bad as Cantor was on policies, he was a good role model for Jewish Republications. If voter segments don’t see any of their kind among a party’s elected officials, they assume the party is not interested in them. If we insist on a party free of Specters and Javitses, then we can also expect a smaller segment of Jewish votes and funding (to say nothing of competing in Northeastern or West Coast states.).
