They’re apparently even buying up the water in My neck of the woods. My mother tells me that they’re out of water in Brooklyn Michigan and they’re getting hit in Chelsea and Jackson.

Thinking I should run the hose out to the gate and put up a sign to sell some well water.

Interesting they're not using Cleveland water or any other water from Lake Erie. It might make sense to stock up on supplies just in case other Lake Erie sourced water gets contaminated.

(ohmygosh, isn't this how panics start?)

If the beer was no good to drink, that would be a crisis.

This is a pretty good EPA file on identification, effects and treatment. This is a difficult toxin to remove, but can be done at the individual level.

This is some very serious S#!%. I just talk to a Berkey Water filter Rep and this is what she told me:

Nicole 15:49
At this time, we haven’t have data for Microcystin. It is a toxin produced by the bacteria. So even though the Black Berkey Elements can remove 99.9999% of bacteria, we cannot be certain it will remove this toxin. Therefore, we cannot recommend using the Berkey Elements to filter water contaminated with Microcystin.

If a Berkey Water Filter can’t make it fit to drink I wonder how it ever will every be fit to drink! Berkeys are used to make good drinkable water by many people working in third world hell holes were passable water is what we would call sludge. Looks to me that the excrement has collided with the rotating air circulator!

I make Lactic Acid Bacteria and it will terminate the toxins in about a day! Or just was your fruit in it.
Naturally
Any questions? Oh by the way I use lab for a pro-biotic and a lot other things.
LAB Eats up the ammonia nitrate causing the algae blooms.
FAST

I sent a link to this to my younger cousin in Toledo and asked for her comments. Her response:

S*** be crazy! I’m well. This winter woke me up. I have a week worth of water / food in basement at all times. :)

I’m proud of her prepping!

I really need to buy that Big Berkey I keep threatening to get.

I just don’t believe this story. Algae bloom?
Has this never happened before? I’m sure the lake has had some sort of algae on it at least once in the last 150 years it’s been used as a drinking source. Something evil going on here but I can’t put my finger on it.

Wash Tony Packo’s sausage down with some beer and forget about it.

Also from City of Toledo Facebook page:

#Any method that the water can be ingested is not advised. This includes washing dishes, vegetables, etc. Filtration systems, such as carbon filters, will not remove the toxins.

#Please stay tuned for further updates, which will be provided as soon as possible, as long as the information is deemed as factual.
