Compared to Chairman Mao they are both a couple of punks. Recall how he, at 73, did a 10 mile swim in Yangtze and at a near record pace?
Hey, it's true. The Chinese press reported it and there are even pictures.

I think you're right, it's a BF. What might be surprising to a lot of folks who are mostly familiar with the smaller versions of the poodle, Standard poodles are very smart (too smart to hang out with the likes of an Obama) and make very good
hunting dogs.

Here is the hyper masculine outdoors man in his well worn hat, well worn clothes, and well worn hiking boots, that never actually seems to be doing anything for real, but always seems to be in a pose, sitting on a passive horse, or holding a brag worthy fish, or holding something that men use in outdoor activities while never sweating, or looking grungy, or showing any signs of ever being in the sun.
This photo is so convincing.
Here is a naturally masculine man that actually lived the life of athletic scholarship in 1920s college football, of being the most heroic lifeguard in his region of the nation, and not in a swimming pool, but on a deadly river, a man who actually served for years as a Cavalryman, a man who knew himself and was comfortable in his own skin, a man who played down his natural masculinity with self effacing humor.

I’m sure they tried to find a manly photo of King Hussein, but none have ever been made.

“a man who actually served for years as a Cavalryman”
He was a good rider, but he did not spend years in the Cavalry. Called to active duty, he served one month as a liaison officer of the Port and Transportation Office before transferring to public affairs.
To: Mr Rogers
Reagan was called to active duty in April of 1942, after 5 years of serving as a horse cavalry officer in the Army reserves.

He was in the reserves during that time. He went riding once in a while with them. My son is in the Army National Guard. He has several years of service based on combat deployments, one to Iraq and one to Afghanistan, but I’d hardly pretend he has a also spent the last two years ‘in the Army’.
When Reagan was called to active duty, he did non-riding duty for a month and then transferred to public affairs.
To: Mr Rogers
I don’t know what bug is under your collar, but you are being silly and lying when you misquote “Army Reserves” as meaning the active Army.
Reagan was a full fledged Cavalry officer in the United States Army Reserves for five years. He started preparing in 1935 and enlisted in 1937.
In 1942 he transferred to active duty and served during WWII, leaving the Army in 1945, and finishing his commission in 1953.
I don’t know how long your service was, but 8 years of serving and another 8 years of inactive, plus two years of officer study seems pretty good, surely not something that you should be attempting to belittle.
Reagan was our last Cavalry President, and a true cavalryman, and was buried as such.
