NRSC Chairman Says Republicans Could Flip Up To 14 Senate Seats

WASHINGTON — The chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee said Thursday that the likelihood Republicans win back the Senate is better today than when he assumed leadership in 2012.

During a luncheon with reporters, Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said: “Back in the very beginning, I would’ve told you we had six good candidates in six states.”

Now, Moran said, the number of races where Republicans could pick up seats from Democrats has expanded to somewhere in the range of 12 to 14 states.

Republicans need to flip six states to win back control of the Senate.

Moran credited Republicans with nominating credible candidates in primaries across the country.

“I think what we are most pleased about is the quality of candidates that we have in those states,” Moran said.

Moran listed open-seats in West Virginia, Montana and South Dakota as the top three most likely pick-ups for Republicans.

“They are solidly red states, and they have good candidates, excellent candidates, and Democrat opposition is not at that caliber,” he said.

Moran also listed Louisiana, Arkansas, North Carolina and Alaska as other top target states for Republicans. Each of these states have Democratic incumbents running in red states.

“We have significant opportunities,” Moran said. “History is on our side. In a non-presidential year in the second term of a president, the party out of power in this case, the Republicans, on average win six and half seats.”

That’s why immigration is so important right now. It could kill the republicans hopes. What’s going on now is just arousing Dem voters to get to the polls. Obama could care less about any of these people.

Yeah? Is that so.....

And 2012 was supposed to be a cakewalk for any GOP presidential nominee!

Imbeciles of the NRSC answer me this!

1. Mississippi
2. Mark Mayfield

Until these two items are addressed, go F yourselves!

Until you have honest vote counts the GOP won’t win squat.

Just another fund raising pipe dream.

Until Moran counts the votes, he may barely win 4-5 states.

Exactly! I hope that Mitch McConnell, Thad Cochran and Lindsey Graham all lose.

I would wager that many Dem voters, omitting the ones who follow politics closely, are as horrified by the border invasion as conservatives are, especially those in border states. And the stories are going to keep on coming, so even the MSM is going to have to cover some of it. Plus as each state is asked (told?) to take on more kids, it becomes a local story as well. Nothing focuses the mind better than having national policy happening down the block from you, or in your child’s own school.

In my opinion, the Dems have stepped on a land mine with a delayed fuse by encouraging this illegal surge of young immigrants, and it’s going to go off in early November. This one has legs, as long as the GOP doesn’t do something that allows the MSM to shift the blame to Republicans. (Yes, I know, most of you think they’ll do just that. I give them more credit than that, however.)

Sounds like the NRSC has gotten hold of some VERY good “blow” from the DEA evidence locker and has been collectively snorting it like a bunch of Hoover vacuum cleaners. The NRSC has a bunch of inbred, washed up lobbyists whose counsel is as worthless as it is clueless. They are magnificent at losing elections to Donkeys.

If the GOPE knows you will still vote for them after the Mississippi burning of conservatives do you think if they win they will all of a sudden play nice and listen to and treat conservative any better?

Unfortunately no matter what happens 2016 will go to the Dems. The GOP
has every intention of going liberal, has gone Liberal, and will F-us with
their out of the closet Liberalism.

What I want is what the Tea party offers, but the old guard GOP will not
allow any of them into power positions.

The only thing that will change this is Conservative leadership in the
Presidential position. That, is the Only way out of this crap. And I don't mind
cussing because playing nice is over.

2016 will be a repeat of 2012, and people will just stay home. They may come out to
change the Senate leadership but that's all, unless Boehner and the rest are kicked out.

We have a roughly even or better shot in 10 rat held seats.

SD, MT, WV are (knock on wood) sure things.

Then there is AR, AK, LA, NC.

The toughest 3, IA, CO, MI

I feel the best about Iowa.

Beyond those victories are possible, but difficult. Target # 11 is surely NH, Scott Brown has a decent shot at closing the gap.

NJ Poll, Booker (D) 47% - Bell (R) 37%.

Booker is pathetic, even a weak challenger like Bell holds him under 50% (and even Lonegan did respectably against
him).

Any semblance of a top-tier opponent and he would probably be dead meat. NJ is NOT one of Moran’s “14”.

Meanwhile in another long shot race, Virginia (which IS part of Moran’s 14), things do not look good.

Mark Warner (D) 53%, Ed Gillespie (R) 28%, Rob Sarvis (L/Soros) 5%. 28% is embarrassing, could Warner be headed to another ridiculous landslide?

The other 2 of the “14” are Minnesota and Oregon. I’d put MN right after NH, in Oregon I am not impressed by our candidate. I’d have to rate NJ ahead of OR and VA at this point.

Wehby not looking good in Oregon, as to be expected give her failings as a candidate.

Survey USA poll.

Merkely (D) 52%

Monica Wehby (R) 33%

The gubernatorial race is a little closer, ***tzhaber (D) leads Richardson (R) by 48%-36%.
