I found this article which describes how patients are treated to build up their own immune systems and strengthen them to fight the disease.

http://microbewiki.kenyon.edu/index.php/Ebola_virus

There is also a notation concerning a woman who may or may not have contracted the virus while working on a vaccine - so she gave herself a shot of the vaccine and survived.

Scary stuff.

I have the Nova show on Ebola.

During the filming, a nurse/healthcare worker contracted the virus. It was discussed about whether they locally had the authority to treat it, or whether it was Doctors Without Borders who would treat her.

They decided that they themselves would treat her, took the blood of a survivor, centrifuged it, and injected the plasma into the woman.

It worked. She survived.

Afaik, they are still unsure about how exactly the plasma worked - or even if it was that that worked, or if she healed herself.
