For over 2,000 years, Christians and Muslims lived in peace in Mosul, Iraq, the country's second largest city. That all changed on June 10, 2014 when the Islamic State, formerly known as ISIS, invaded the city and evicted its Christian population. With the Christians gone, ISIS has begun to destroy or occupy every Christian landmark in the city.
The Assyrian International News Agency released a full list of the 45 institutions the Islamic State destroyed or occupied. Here are a few examples:

Syrian Orthodox Archdiocese
Church of the Immaculate
Diocese of the Assyrian Church of the East
Chaldean Diocese
Church of the Holy Spirit

Latin Church and Monastery of the Dominican Fathers and Convent of Katrina Siena Nuns
Christian Cemetery in the Ekab Valley
On July 19, the Islamic State gave Christians 12 hours to convert to Islam, pay a protection tax, or die. The majority chose to flee the city. The terrorists marked Christian homes and businesses with the letter N for Nazarene and imposed a radical version of Sharia law.

The takeover started with kidnappings of security guards and soldiers. Then the group destroyed statues of Jesus and the Virgin Mary and raised a black ISIS flag in Mary’s place...

Not a peep from the media, not a peep from these celebrities who are too busy denouncing Israel for protecting itself..meanwhile a REAL Holocaust is going on in Iraq and other countries, Christians are being slaughtered and Obama is smiling
2,000 years ago, Jesus Christ had not yet manifested himself as the Mesiah. The only "Christians" at that time were his mother, Mary, St. Joseph, St. John the Baptist, and possibly St. Ann, St. Joachim (Mary's parents), St. Elizabeth, and Zachariah (John the Baptist's parents). (Aside: I wonder why we don't call him St. Zachariah. Hmmmm...)
I just don't like sloppiness in reporting. It should read "For almost 2,000 years...."
King Barry’s silence on this matter is DEAFENING. His failure to order ‘highway of death’ airstrikes on all ISIS convoys is downright SICKENING.
What needs to be done if said by me, will get me zapped or banned.
I meant to pray for the displaced persons — not ISIS. I hope that is what you meant too. :)

Not very well, it seems. In times like these, we need to heed the prophet Joel: "Hammer your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Train even your weaklings to be warriors." (Joel 3:10)
The first part of the first sentence is incorrect. It is not “ovet 2000 years”, it should be “almost 1400 years”. Christians would have lived in the area for hundreds of years (under the Parthian and Sasanian empires) prior to the Islamic conquest in 652 or even the birth of Muhammad in 570.
