Many people put stickers on their cars that show something about them. Ellen Wilson of Savannah, Georgia, has an "I Love My Soldier" bumper sticker on her car to show her support for her fiance in the military. This sticker apparently enraged someone so much that they left a threatening note on Wilson's windshield while she was shopping inside her local Target store.
The note, which was unsigned, was clearly written by a person who was very angry -- it's a full-on rant with an underlined word and an expletive. It also contained a threat saying she was lucky he or she didn't slash her tires. There's more.
The letter read:
So I noticed your 'I love my soldier' decal. Im sure he is your 'hero' too right? I feel really bad for you and how blind you must be to what is really going on in this country. First off he is NOT your hero. Your 'man' is a pawn being used in the immoral game of wholesale murder. If you're aware of the real reasons America goes to war (corporate profits) and the role 'soldiers' play in making such immoral acts possible. The last thing you would label a soldier is a hero. There is nothing heroic about blindly following immoral orders from a undeserved paycheck, especially when such orders involve the unnecessary murder of others!!! Its people like you and your 'soldier' who are destructing our country, shame on you bitch! Youre lucky I didnt slash your damn tires!!
The person who wrote this letter is certainly entitled to their opinion. But that's not what should be the focus here. The issue is that a stranger left a note with a threat in it on a person's windshield who they presumably didn't know. Soldiers, and those who love them, are people too and do many things beyond serving our country. We all deserve respect. The author doesn't know Wilson's stance on anything -- all that is known is that she loves her soldier like the bumper sticker said. The person who penned this letter should instead take this anger and use it in a better way -- write to the President, start a blog -- but don't attack a stranger in the form of an unsigned cowardly note calling her a bitch and threatening to slash her tires.
More from The Stir: Soldier's Disrespectful 'Selfie' Gets Her in Major Trouble
Despite it all, Wilson told WTVM that while she is shocked someone would do this, she isn't mad. She respects those who have a different opinion than she does, and she wouldn't attack someone else over it. She has, however, removed the bumper sticker at the request of her fiance, which was probably a good idea, especially since this issue has gone to the media. She shouldn't be the target for anyone else's hate
Gave up signing letters to the editor long ago for the reason you brought up. Is Dangerous to have an opinion the left dislikes. Am actually surprised the left is shooting more than they are. I’d carry all the time if hadn’t lost all ammo and weapons in that boating accident.

I second that proposal!
I understand ... am still proud of that flag though and that flag doesn’t hurt me as much as those that hate that flag do.
It is difficult to understand the mentality of a communist.
I never put any stickers on my car. There are just too many kooks with issues now and the simplest things tip them over.
Of course, it was soldiers guaranteeing his right to write such drivel.
I have a troop support ribbon, and another for a local who died in Iraq. Ironically a couple weeks ago I saw someone in a parking lot stopped looking at it. I think he was reading the name and date, but who knows. Gone by the time I got there. But you’re right, too many kooks.
“...disgusting actions by a coward...”
You forgot “complete scu*bag”.
Whoops. Wait a minute; leftist scu*bag.
Wait......seems that words aren’t enough to describe cosmic scu*bags.
IMHO
Remember a few years ago,the incident where some lib asswipe was complaining about an anti-Obama bumper sticker? The lib said “I should smash out the windows on that car.”The guy he was talking to said,”That’s my car.You go do what you have to do,and I’ll then do what I have to do.”The lib ran away like a little school girl.
Yes, but no one in the political sphere makes much of an issue about the troops anymore. Jill and Michelle a bit I suppose, but the media doesn't cover it. I'm not one to talk, mine came down in an ice storm last winter and I haven't found time to put the brackets back up.
They only have compassion and understanding if you agree with them.
Funny you mention that, I have a CPL but don't but do have it in my car.
Had an incident just an hour and a half ago at my local Meijer where I observed a young black kid with his white wife and young baby in the self serve check out ahead of me.
He was chowing down on a bag of whatever and never scanned it at the check out.
I went up to the gal who watches over the self check registers and told her the kid hadn't scanned the bag. After he paid and was starting to leave, she went up to him and questioned him about it, he told her he had bought it somewhere else and had brought it into the stor.
There wasn't much she could do about it so she let him go...........I was watching him as he left and when he got to the exit door, he turned around and flashed a gang sign then flipped me the bird and left.......
A harmless situation but a lesson learned nonetheless...........Ya just never know........
The bumper sticker retaliation thing is just one of many interesting little asymmetries between liberals and conservatives that don’t get talked about much but are very revealing. A couple more that jump to mind:
-filthy language is the norm on liberal political forms versus restrained use of profanity on conservative forums
-liberals trash the place when they rally versus conservatives who leave things cleaner than when they came.
Indeed...they’re hypocrisy reeks like a smelly obama
I’ve grown more careful lately. Seeing too much shouldn’t be seeing and I live in a relatively quiet area but things are heating up. Can sense and see it. Talked with a gentleman that left Brooklyn today and moved to this area. Was quite a conversation. Said he couldn’t take Brooklyn anymore. Said he would lay in bed and hear gunshots every night. He has two middle school children and knew he had to get them out of Brooklyn. Said has been here two years and the difference is night and day. And have been thinking all day about our conversation but am of the belief that soon there may be no place to run to and away from. The gentleman did also say this ... Everyone here is armed, not just the criminals and that is why I came here.
Many employers (including some defense-related) support people who hate soldiers and veterans. I worked temp contracts in offices for a long time. Some of those people are from some very anti-American populations, and some of them even work in defense-related offices.
Exactly. Documented and easily verifiable.
