A man accused of scrawling anti-Semitic graffiti outside a Jewish-owned business in Van Nuys has been charged with multiple hate crimes by Los Angeles city prosecutors.
Amos Hason 49, allegedly painted swastikas and other anti-Semitic graffiti on a fence and trash bin behind the plumbing business. Surveillance video from the site shows a man applying graffiti on two occasions.
Among the scrawlings were the words: “Adolf was right. Kill Jews!” with a swastika at the end.
“This case is a stark reminder that there is still hate in our society and we must strike back against it every time it emerges,” City Atty. Mike Feuer said in announcing the charges.

I been in Van Nuys and its like a third world crap-hole.
If you never been there they you are lucky.
Ive been to Van Nuys many times at the Costco on Sepulveda..and your right, you don’t want to be there after dark..the Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks border is decent, but once your deep in, nothing but gang activity
Charge him with vandalism and if convicted, give him the max, “hate crime” is so stupid.
I used to have to go to Van Nuys for work meetings few times a year and it took me a while to find Sherman Oaks to stay at, and then traffic is the opposite direction each way,
When I stayed in Van Nuys the clerk at the Holiday Inn told me that she wouldnt take a walk outside at night, but I used to anyway. It was a sight for sure.
This may be one of the exceptional cases, where “hate crime” is an apt description. This was more than mere vandalism — this was uttering death threats, and inciting violence.

I once saw a Jewish Cemetery and on the sign that read “Jewish Cemetery” (whatever it exactly said, I think it did say that), someone had egged it. I’ve always wondered about that and who’d do such a thing.
That said, better than 50% of Jewish American Voters are all screwed up and I don’t think a lot of them really care about Israel as well.

The deeper you go in Van Nuys, the worse it is..Van Nuys/North Hills border..you don’t want to be there during the day..I have had to go there a few times since my dentist is in Mission Hills which isn’t a nice area either..basically the valley is known for their porn, in fact many people here make fun of the fact that the San Fernando Valley is the porn capital of the world
A few times not knowing a better place I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Orion Ave near Roscoe, once almost for a whole week .
This was back about five years ago.
I worked out that direction. On my way home one day about seven years ago, I decided to stop by a Sears (I believe it was Sears) store. All the signs were in big Spanish words, with small English versions written below.
While I was there, one of the female employees came up to me and warned me that I should probably get out of the area. At dusk the parking lot turned into a big gang haven. She was concerned about my safety.
I grew up from the 70s, around the San Fernando Valley. In the 70s it was a white middle class area. At 3.5 million strong, it was the model for American Graffiti. I the 70s I used to cruise Van Nuys Boulevard.
Then one day in the early 1990s, I drive down Van Nuys Boulevard all the way, and took at good look at the vagrants, or close to it along the way. Some of the areas along the boulevard had been pretty upwardly movile in the 70s. Now it was inhabited by people who looked like they just got off the turnip truck from Tijuana.
Shopping baskets were being pushed down the sidewalk. The stores had taken on the character of a slum like look. The 3.5 million area, was now more illegal immigrant exemplary than middle-class.
I wouldn’t go into that area at night.
When I warn other parts of the country what illegal immigration winds up doing, they laugh. Never here, is their mantra. Well, let them learn the hard way.
Yes, Van Nuys is now a third world crap hole.

Well the MSM is effective. They are creating hate just like this.
60% Hispanic, 20% white, 20% other.
Its like a crime ridden Mexican border town with lots of fast food stores.
I don't particularly like the "hate" crime concept, but it probably fits here. This is clearly intimidation, not graffiti, in fact the perp has delivered a clear death threat. I would assume there are other charges in California which could have fit the actions, including assault since a threat was made, but if a hate crime charge fits best, in instances like this imo that's OK.
