A six-year-old girl watched in horror as police gunned down her one-year-old dog as it stood in their front yard, her family has said.
The girl's mother, Nicole Echlin, said their shepherd-mix Apollo, whom they have had since he was a puppy, got out of their yard in Hometown near Chicago, Illinois on Friday afternoon.
After they chased him around the neighborhood, he returned to the yard and was standing on the lawn when police arrived and pulled out their guns, Echlin told the Chicago Tribune.
'He started showing his teeth - that's when the officer shot him,' Echlin, 27, said. 'I didn't know that was going to happen.'

According to city-data.com, Hometown had zero murders between 2000 and 2012. It is 1.5 miles from Oaklawn, a town of 57,000 with just 6 murders during the same period. It is a very low crime area, and her home and yard look well kept.
So tell us why you would make such a statement.

I’m 53 and have lived a hard life. When you move out of your parent’s basement and experience real life. unplugged life where people you love get shot, die of caner or screw you over. Where you try to better your life and all you get is laughed at. etal.
You’ll be less quick to call people androids and tell them to go get screwed.
Once you actually live life, you will feel sad because the little girl who saw her dog shot, will probably see her uncle shot and brother killed.
