STUNNING DEVELOPMENT: DC Police Chief Lanier just told force not to arrest a person who can legally carry a gun in DC or any state.
More -- DC police chief using guidance from AG -- grants full reciprocity for all open and concealed carry from others states.
“Damn... it would be a hoot if ten thousand gunnies showed up all carrying open in a Victory parade, wouldn’t it...”
How about two hundred thousand flooding into DC and laying seige on the White House and all the gov’t buildings. Citizen arrests for the ongoing crimes against the people.

Let’s make it more specific, though. No one who can legally carry under Chief Lanier’s order will be arrested on Monday, 28 July, or if you wish, Tuesday, 29 July, in Washington D.C.
Not at all certain. Most of the national reciprocity legislation simply says that if you may legally carry concealed in your state of residence, you may legally carry concealed in every state and federal territory, subject to the restrictions that they put on their own residents (such as no carry in jails, for example).
In an order approved by Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier, police were told that District residents are permitted to carry pistols if the weapons are registered. Those who had not registered their handguns could be charged on that ground, the instruction said.
The number of registered pistols is thought to be low.
That’s the catch. They want people to register their guns so they know who has them when they take them away.

Doggone it, I wish I had heard about this earlier so I could have watched the fireworks. I seem to always miss out on all these fun things, but maybe I can still catch it on You Tube.

I’ll settle for two hundred thousand peacefully exercising their Second Amendment RIGHT to carry and First Amendment RIGHT to assemble in a show of complete and total unity and support for the US Constitution, our traditions, our history, our heritage, and our rights as American Citizens.
We’ll let the Ballot Box do the besieging and speaking for us.
It will only take a few open carriers in D.C. for the crime rate to drop like a rock. Let it go on for a week, and then have the D.C. attorneys try to claim that an emergency stay is needed for “public safety”.

We are the single most disenfranchised group of citizens in this country - demonized, lied about, singled out, all for demanding that our Constitutionally-enumerated right be recognized - and we should be shouting it from the rooftops that a Federal court just shoved it up the wazoo of the antis - Right in the belly of the beast, no less.
