To knowingly go into that situation, and face such a horrible disease, with certain death from it, outpaces my pitiful little attempts at being a soldier.
As a soldier, I knew that my training and ability would give me a hell of a shot at surviving, and that is why, on a personal level, I always rejected that label, but these people of mercy, even with the best training in the world, cannot fight against such a horrid thing.
And to know that once they have tested positive for it, death is bearing down.
As far as their political bent, I care less. I only hope they have voted for God.
Sooner or later, a cure will be found...or a vaccine or a surefire method of killing it, and that will be because of these brave souls that went into the very pit of hell to care for those that are dieing from this, and then to die themselves.
May God save their souls.
AMEN !!!
Agree with your post except for one tiny thing. You're willing to face the fire fight head on as a soldier. Granted you are well trained to minimize the risk of “failure” but you signed up and did your duty. That's more than 98% of the US population today.
Amen, and great comment. Different kinds of heroes. You’re still one.
Well said.
And thank you for your service, sir.
