“Modern Family” is a show whose depiction of a gay married couple is so uncontroversial that Democrats and Republicans alike can enjoy it (as evidenced by the show’s getting praised by both Barack Obama and Mitt Romney in 2012). But one of the show’s stars was uncomfortable when approached by one GOP fan.
Eric Stonestreet, the Emmy-winner who plays gay former football player Cameron, told HuffPost Live that he had been approached by Rick Santorum at a recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The former Pennsylvania senator and once (and future?) presidential candidate asked for a picture:

I too know nothing about that show, and I am not looking it up.
If its on the TV networks (CBS, NBC,ABC, FOX) I block those channels on my cable box,
I’ve heard of it but not watched it. I have pretty much banned the fag shows in my home as I am sick to death of their constant whining about the glories of their disease riddled lives.
I listened to one describe his romps one time, better have a strong stomach to listen to that.

I question why Santorum would even attend the White House Correspondents dinner where 95% of the people there hate his guts. I guess Santorum got starry eyed spending too much time inside the Beltway.

Santorum's opposed to gay marriage. Stonestreet is in favor of it. What did you expect him to do? Would Sarah Palin want her picture taken with Sean Penn or Jane Fonda?
