Honey, cancel the vacation to Burkina Faso!
Good heavens - definitely cancel that vacay. I’ve just been reading a bit about it...and, no thank you for any free trips to this place.
For the record, Burkina Faso has a French owned cigarette factory that uses filter material from Tennessee
I flew Emirates to Hong Kong (via Dubai) just after the Malaysian Airlines disappearance.I must admit that I was sweating bullets mainly because it was an Arab airline connecting through an Arab city. But I survived.
Oh yeah....pretty much due East of the Yucatan Peninsula.
Just out of curiosity, what material are cigarette filters made from anyways?
Cigarette filters are made from any one of very many specific varieties of cigarette filter tow that is a continuous ribbon of extremely fine cellulose acetate fibers ie 35,000 total denier. The tow is bundled into a wrapped pencil shaped strip then cut into the length required.
Nobody has blamed Putin yet?

It was called Upper Volta until the 80s.
Either I missed the renaming or I’d forgotten it.
Who else are the Russkies supplying BUK’s to?
You and me, both.
No,Vlad's unlikely to have been involved in this one.Nor is W likely to have been involved. But Vlad's 100% responsible for those 300 people last week regardless of what he...or anyone at FR...might claim.
A woman I went out with years ago had a joke she'd play on me...if I displeased her in any way she'd smile and threaten to send me packing to Ouagadougou.Swear to God it's true!
Wow! That’s pretty evil. Hubby flies out of there. I live in Las Vegas and there’s a reason for that. He refuses to move me there. He must really love me.
No,it's probably because he still hasn't learned how to spell it! ;-)
LOL. I know, really, and the poor guy spells about as well as a third grader to begin with. Heck of a pilot though.
Ooops...I should have been more clear. My joke was in connection to how difficult it is to spell Ouagadougou. But knowing now how poor a speller he is I do hope he can spell "north"..."south"...."cleared to land",etc! ;-)
