Why Elizabeth Warren Is Overrated

The notion that Elizabeth Warren should challenge Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Party presidential nomination has been optimistically tossed around in left-wing circles for a while now. Activists at Netroots Nation recently chanted ”Run, Liz, run.” And no doubt, the excitement generated by Warren is a function of her ideological sinceritya sincerity thats most obvious when contrasted with Hillary Clintons lack of earnestness and pandering.
Still, it seems to me that a lot of people are overestimating the appeal, uniqueness, and popularity of Warren. Whats most enticing about Warren right now is the perception of her, not the reality.
For starters, once you get past her impassioned sermons, and they can be quite entertaining, the most striking aspect of Warrens big-message progressivismthe driving principles are laid out in the much-discussed 11 commandments speechis how small and ordinary it all is. She might offer Americans more commandments than God, but most of her directives can found on the issues page of any middling Democratic candidates website:
We believe that Wall Street needs stronger rules and tougher enforcement, and we’re willing to fight for it.
We believe in science, and that means that we have a responsibility to protect this Earth.
We believe that no one should work full-time and still live in poverty, and that means raising the minimum wage.
Immigration reform. Science. Protecting Social Security and Medicare. Equal pay. Rolling back some religious freedom and free speech
and you know the rest. As far as I can tell, Hillary supports every single one of these items. Then again, you probably dont believe her.
Its when Warren goes full Progressive that she sounds like a irate union boss.

Elizabeth Warren claims she is for the poor and the downtrodden and is against the big banks that foreclosed on houses. Then she made a lot of money buying up the foreclosed houses.
I would say that is a campaign issue.

I do not see it. I d not see any coalition to vote for this woman. I do not see the black turn out at record proportions to vote for a fake Indian white woman.
I certainly know that beyond the stupid unmarried female and radical abortionist wing of the Democrats, she has nothing to say.
That being said. It would behoove the Republicans to find a strong conservative instead of a weak moderate to run against the Democrats this time. If we are going to lose, let’s do it with a conservative for once.

Totally agree. Stand on principles. Ronald Reagan comes immediately to mind.

If my wife went to work full time and we put our kids into daycare full time, she would make just about 100 dollars more a week than the daycare cost. So she would go to work to pay for the daycare, and use the daycare to allow her to go to work. It is absurd.

As funny as it sounds, I would bet Biden will be the DNC’s Presidential candidate in 2016.

And someone else raises your kids.

Markos whatshisname from DailyKos has an article several Lib friends or mine posted on FB last night about how Warren is too Left to be the nominee.
Which is a pretty stunning admission, given the source. Also stunning was how many Libs agreed with it.
Altho they also all agreed that she’s in a good place as Senator because she’s going to pull the Democrats further Left ...

What I wouldn’t give for someone to hack the sound system at one of her events so that when she took the stage “I’m an Indian Outlaw” would play in the background ...

That is exactly right. We had my daughter in 3 separate day cares, and there was always problems. She would come home in a different outfit. They would routinely open the daycare late. The staff gave her lunches, “by accident”, to another kid. I would come to pick her up, and she would be in a corner crying and ignored by staff.
The way we set ourselves up, we just might go ahead and do the home schooling. I estimate that in a given day at a public school, they get maybe 2 - 3 hours of real lecture time, in the 8 hours they are there. Therefore, I would argue that these schools are wasting my children’s time.

hen I think Elizabeth Warren (assuming shes serious about screwing the banksters) will be the next President. Never happen. She's either FOS, they co-opt her or they destroy her using any means necessary. Any means necessary.
