Well, I certainly wouldn’t want to be flying into Tel Aviv right now - apparently one of the rockets pierced the “Iron Dome,” and Hamas has been boasting about how they want to take down a passenger plane. Pilots are refusing to fly the route and passengers are cancelling. This is only common sense, and Hamas would be even happier if the planes kept on flying and they actually did manage to get one.
The thing that nobody is noticing is how much more successful Hamas is in general this time around. They have killed a large number (relatively speaking) of Israeli soldiers and do seem to have gotten at least one rocket through the Iron Dome.
It probably had a thank you note to Obama attached to it, since it was the clandestine arming of the Syrian “rebels,” the precursors of ISIS, that got these higher quality arms into the hands of Hamas and a host of other seriously bad guys. He always supports the most militant Islamists.
This external islamoNai pressure or sanction definitely underscores the need for Israel to destroy as much of her local IslamoNazi enemy as possible as fast as possible
This give Israel no choice but to massively escalate their operation. They would be severely crippled with no air service.
I don’t see now how they can avoid retaking Gaza, doing some serious clean up and settling in for the long haul and try by whatever means to change the mentality of those people.
Tough, tough row ahead, but it can be done - the US did it with Japan after WWII. And ISIS is doing it rather quickly in their newly conquered territory. First thing they need to do is stop worrying about the world’s opinion.
