Several airlines already had suspended operations or diverted flights.
The ban comes less than a week after a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 was shot down over Ukraine. For Hamas, it could be the biggest break the Islamist group has had since the most recent fighting started -- potentially increasing Israeli's physical and psychological isolation from the rest of the world. The airport handles about 14 million travelers a year.

This definitely would be a "coup" for Hamas!

It’s only for 24 hours, though ...

Will Hamas shoot down an airliner? Talk about hatred. Why does the Hamas hate mankind?

It is not going to be for 24 hours. What scenario can you imagine in which the FAA lifts it in 24 hours?
This is another vicious attempt by the Obama administration to pressure Israel into accepting a cease fire that leadership — and the vast majority of Israel’s citizens — agree is not in Israel’s interest.
The decision plays into the hands of the BDS people as well.
I would expect nothing less from this US administration.

The effects of Benghazi rears its ugly head.
All those missing SAMs?
Given/sold to those trying to defeat Assad in Syria?
The same group taking over Iraq?
The same group who recently pledged allegiance with Hamas?

Or gives Israel even more incentive to hammer Hamas with everything they’ve got to put a quicker end to this fight.

I really don’t think Hamas is winning the media war, especially when the UN Secretary General strongly condemns Hamas and says that they must stop, and when the EU says that Hamas must be disarmed, and when Egypt is very strongly criticizing Hamas for neglecting their own citizens.
This media war is going very strongly against Hamas, even if Hamas is inflicting some damage on Israel in the military sphere.

And it gives Israel more “legitimacy” in world capitals. It will spur Israel on.
