WA Ping The helplessness of people when up against the power of nature is proven again and again. It makes me wonder where we sometimes go wrong it letting politics dominate our lives.
A few years back the home I built in Lake Tahoe burned to the ground along with 230 others. Much of the problem was lack of forest maintenance, abundant ground fuel not being cleaned up and prohibition against greening around the homes to create firebreaks. These changes all came about along with an influx of liberals moving into our valley along the upper Truckee River.
It reminds me that when my wife and I stayed at the Sun Mountain Lodge in the Methow Valley a while back I chatted with a long time local who was complaining of liberals moving up there and changing how things are run. ...jus' wonderin'
