A special delegation of firefighters from across the US arrived in Israel with one goal: To help firefighters from Israel's rocket battered south deal with ongoing rocket fire.
Fire fighters in the south have been working ceaselessly to since fighting began ten days ago, and their mission include searching for the rockets as well as extinguishing the resulting blazes.
Between the rockets attack from Gaza and rumors of ceasefire, little attention has been paid to the plight of Israel's firefighting forces in Sderot and other southern communities, however a group called Emergency Volunteer Project aims change that and work with their Israeli counterparts.
Flying in to Israel from LA, Washington and Texas, senior fire fighters and officers from the force seemed adamant in their desire to help. "We were all part of the massive tragedy that was 9/11. There we undertook search and rescue missions. When we heard that hundreds of rockets are falling on Israel we decided to join forces and come and help," said Billy Hearst, 51, from Texas.

That is fantastic, so glad to hear about it
I’d be even happier if we formed a “fighting tigers” group of US civilians and just went into Gaza on our own and did the difficult acts that Israel cannot do, due to international pressure.
This can’t be true. Everyone knows Hamas rockets don’t do any damage... /s
Well ... around Oklahoma we’ve got grass fires that our fire departments have to put out all the time. We’ve got more trouble with Oklahoma grass fires than Israel has trouble with Hamas rockets ... thanks to Israel’s “Iron Dome” ... :-) ...
The damage is there but it’s on the scale of Oklahoma’s grass fires!
But, nonetheless, Israel does have to do what it is doing right now to put a stop to Hamas.

.
It also provides the US firefighters with the needed experience for the time that a similar situation occurs in the US.
Well ... I don’t think it’s coming from Canada, so you must be referring to Mexico. That means they will only be dealing with Southern California, Southern Arizona, Southern New Mexico and Southwestern Texas.
What about our peaceful citizens with their numerous jihadi training centers and mosques?
I hope New York Fire Fighters go. They are top notch and patriots as well.

You have the lone wolf syndrome that is a viable scenario, but there’s not enough infrastructure support for that lone wolf to create even one rocket. They are dangerous, as we’ve seen many arrests of these lone wolves, but they’re nothing like a large and organized infrastructure, in place, like Hamas in Gaza.
There are “political operatives” who are trying to make changes in laws and government, but they don’t get involved in active terrorist operations, in terms of “carrying them out”. With those guys, we take care of them with laws, law enforcement and with political ways and procedures.
There isn’t a terrorist infrastructure in place, designed to actually carry out operations, in the USA. That infrastructure simply isn’t there. As long as we can keep active surveillance and law enforcement on top of the internal terrorist potential - which might take MORE SPYING ON CIVILIANS IN GENERAL - I think we can easily avoid that situation.
