Via the Blaze, skip to 9:20 of the second clip for a bit about his chat with Ted Cruz. It occurs to me that this is, in a way, the opposite of Palin’s call for impeachment. Many grassroots righties support impeachment but there’s virtually no one in the political class, including tea-party heroes like Cruz, willing to pursue it.
In the case of Beck’s charity drive for kids from Central America who’ve been sent north across the border, some (maybe not quite “many”) grassroots righties oppose it on grounds that it’s adding an incentive for more illegals to come. But virtually everyone in the political class supports it — again, including tea-party heroes like Mike Lee and Cruz, who has an extra reason as a prospective 2016 candidate to pitch in here. Joining Beck’s charity drive is a way for Republicans who might take a tougher line on border enforcement than the rest of the presidential field to deflect the left’s inevitable accusations that they’re “heartless.” What Beck’s doing here, intentionally or not, by bringing people like Cruz into the fold is creating political space for conservatives to stand their ground on security.
I’m frankly surprised that other big-name righties like Rubio and Rand Paul haven’t asked to participate too, precisely for that reason. Although, in Rubio’s case, perhaps that would be … awkward.
If Democrats end up caving and endorsing some sort of expedited deportation process for the kids who are coming, would that reduce the incentive to cross the border sufficiently to make you support Beck’s charity drive? Or is there nothing to redeem this idea among its opponents?
Just get the cash, Glenn. Buy one-way tickets home for them.
Good question.....
Weird interview, Beck made a point of blaming Bush twice about border
That’s a lot of hot meals and bus tickets back to their homes!
His listeners raised $700,000. According to Forbes, Beck earned $90 M. last year alone, maybe he could kick in a few bucks.
Just wondering how much money Beck has raised for children in need in this country.
When you feed pigeons, you get more pigeons.
Can you say big business amnesty pimps?
Except Beck does want AMNESTY and wide open borders...
A bit of a huckster, that ole Glenn Beck!
Glenn is going to the border
....Glenn announced he will be visiting the border town of McAllen, Texas on Saturday, July 19. He will be joined by politicians like Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX) and faith leaders as Mercury One begins to distribute the goods and services it has accumulated through donations to its Children and Family Border Relief Fund.
Over the last several days and weeks, Glenn has read countless emails and social media comments from fans who both support and oppose the position he has taken on this issue. On radio this morning, Glenn shared details about his upcoming trip to the border and sought to further clarify why he believes there is no justice without mercy.
****
His *listeners*/readers are slamming him, btw.

Breitbart was right.
Bog deal. HHS, the Border Patro, etc. have already spent waaaaay more of our tax dollars on them than that........and it ain’t over yet.
I sometimes think Glenn Beck is a bit naive. I can understand feeding them, treating them with basic medical care or emergency care if need be with the intent of sending them back but I think Beck should stay out of it. I don’t think even Stu agrees with what Beck is doing.
If he really wants to help people, help those who stayed in their own country. Why help the invaders? It doesn’t make sense unless there’s an agenda behind it.
Did Breitbart call out Beck, too? I know Levin was on to his shtick years ago...and Michael Weiner (Savage) has eviscerated him.
Beck is the greatest phony of our time.
Hank
Beck’s listeners just ponied up $700,000 for MS-13. Children, my ass. His fans are beginning to remind me of a cult.
If people are very concerned with the children of Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua then they should go through known charities and set up shop in these countries. I know a missionary that did such work in Nicaragua last year. Make the magnet drawing the kids in their own home countries.
Supplying food, money and basic medicine in their own home town would be cheaper in the long run and better for everyone. Drone the cartel members if that's their problem. Oh, and I see how great Daniel Ortega has been running Nicaragua.
Meh, I’m not impressed.
You want to impress me, they should go ahead and have some of them move in with them.
