According to its mission statement, Brandeis University was founded to embody its highest ethical and cultural values and to express its gratitude to the United States through the traditional Jewish commitment to education. I really wish people would excerpt the relevant parts of articles and not just the opening paragraphs
What’s this story about?
There you go.

From what I read...... platitudes
The purpose of the excerpt is to have you click on the link and read the article so you do not steal the intellectual property of the people who have published the article.
Actually, a (not-so-rare)pure form of distilled Academic Bullshit.
Houston, we have a problem, warned Mary Baine Campbell, a Brandeis English professor. Ayaan Hirsi Ali claims to have had a difficult early life, and it may be true. However, she's an ignorant, ultra-right-wing extremist, abusively, shockingly vocal in her hatred for Muslim culture and Muslims, a purveyor of the dangerous and imaginary concept, born of European distaste for the influx of immigrants from its former colonies, Islamofascism which has died on the vine even of the new European right wing. Yep. Thanks. We already knew that faculty had revolted to cause her invitation to be rescinded.
The kind of people who would be driven away by that are usually not the conservative type. Conservatives tend to honor someone else’s work. So it probably wouldn’t be that big a loss to the forum. Besides, how can you or anyone discuss the merits of an article unless they read it?
Nobody is suggesting that you post full Breitbart stories. The idea is that without some introductory explanation, Freepers don’t know whether the story or video is of sufficient interest to them to fight the popups and assorted screen and advertisement crap that a site like Breitbart throws at you.
