Most underrated at the world cup: Everybody but Messi on Argentina. They played their hearts out.
Most overrated: Messi. He's lost at least a step (at 27) and a cutting edge that he had going back two or three years. Sure did a lot of walking around. The defense carried this team.

ESPN had the English language coverage, Univision had Spanish. ESPN also streamed all the matches for those of us who didn’t have cable. I watched all but the ABC games on my computer. Good workman-like coverage this time around, nothing artsy-fartsy.

Yippee no more kick ball!!!!
I can say I have never watched a soccer match and the only pitch I have seen is off a mound.
This silly little game will not be missed much in America.

What I is find most amusing about a sport that growing in popularity in the U.S., is the people who continue insisting that it is not popular. It’s almost as if they wish that if they only clicked their heels together, it will go away.

Germany defeats Argentina 1-0 to win the World Cup So sad... so depressing...so disheartening...
Oh Lord, mercy me, why Germany???> Look, there are so many decent nations in the world...
To: Kaslin
Every man, woman, and child in Germany will wake up tomorrow beaming with pride for their country.
When was the last time that has happened in America? Perhaps the Miracle on Ice in 1980 when Russia was still the USSR. And I bet that even helped Reagan to his victory.
Whatever you say about the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. none of the teams instill national pride like the Weltmanschaft does.

At least there are two Poles on the German team.
Seriously, though Poland needs to get their act together. A nation of 40 million in the Heart of Europe should get better results than they’ve gotten recently.
The only good thing about the Communists in Poland, was at least they had good soccer teams. They should have won the Cup in 74.

Buster Posey and Madison Bumgardner hit Grand Slams in back to back innings today. First time in MLB history the starting pitcher and catcher hit slams in a game. Now there's History.
