Watch New York man get arrested by three cops for asking a simple question (VIDEO's)

Video released last weekend shows Ryan Conklin of Monroe County, New York, being detained by three police officers for simply asking a question.

Conklin recounted his trip to a Henrietta Hots restaurant with a friend to blogger Davy V., recalling how he noticed three Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies inside the restaurant and decided to ask them a question.

“I simply asked three Monroe County Sheriffs, why they all were all at Henrietta Hots when it is a busy holiday weekend, and I suggested they be split up and police the area, taking staggered breaks,” Conklin said.

“During the full discussion, my hands were behind my back in a non-aggressive manner.”

Apparently taking offense to his question, Sheriff’s deputy Philip Bartela yelled “I suggest you turn around” at Conklin before again yelling “Are you a badass?” Ryan was then promptly arrested.

“The three sheriffs got in a triangle around me and I was then thrown against the wall and handcuffed,” Ryan said.

Despite continuously asking why he was being detained, Ryan was given no answer and was instead treated like a violent criminal. Ryan also recounted his bizarre treatment during his two hours locked in a cell. “I was placed in a holding cell for two hours for simply asking our public servants a question,” Ryan said. “Locked in a cell with handcuffs on while a Sgt. was present and while all the deputies frantically looked up New York State Penal Law.” Monroe County officials say that deputies did the right thing by detaining Conklin. “We’re actually pleased the video is out there,” Sgt. John Helfer told WHEC. “The video is very supportive of the deputies’ actions, the actions he took when dealing with the individual. The individual was told a number of times to turn around, put his arms behind his back and he did not comply with a lawful order.” “What you see in part two of the video that you don’t see in part one was, before that, there were a number of opportunities for him to go on his way. He was offered that opportunity and he continued his belligerence. He actually approached the deputy and got in his face more or less at the restaurant and it continued from there.” Ryan, who has no criminal record, was eventually charged with disorderly conduct.

The guy made the cops angry, he was obnoxious but sometimes the cops need to learn to walk away, as they expect the citizen to do in a similar situation.

Ryan was a dumbass. Should he have been arrested? Nah, but maybe Ryan just needs an ass kicking to straighten him out. I bet he reminds the cop pulling him over for speeding that “He pays his salary”

The guy was an a-hole, interrupting their meal to start an argument.

Monroe County is where Rochester is located. That department is staffed so three cops can have their meal break together.

Did the guy break a law? Probably not. But even though being an a-hole is not a crime, people who do that need to realize that there are sometimes consequences.

Since when has refusing an order to “turn around” when you've done nothing wrong become a “lawful order”.

Three deputies spending their duty time hanging out get pissed because a citizen suggest that they take turns taking a break instead of all taking a break at once is a crime? Judging based simply on the cops overflowing bellies, they've spent considerable time taking donut breaks.

The Leos were incensed that he implied criticism at how they were conducting their duties. He had every right to address them. If after they expressed their annoyance he had the opportunity to leave, it would have been wise for him to have done so. But I'm not sure he would have had the chance. It appears their first request was for him to turn around so they could handcuff him.

I once got away with a milder form of criticism of police. While seated in a cafe next to two uniformed officers having coffee and donuts, I observed (loud enough for the cops to hear) that their squad cars were parked outside at the curb at expired meters, whereupon one of them said: "That's the privilege of driving a black and white car." I said nothing after that and avoided being maced and arrested.

It is true.

They unreasonably did not bow down to King George III, and obnoxiously threw snowballs loaded with gravel and stones at his soldiers.

They unreasonably started a war with the most powerful military force on the planet at the time.

They taunted and otherwise treated his soldiers with violence, when the soldiers were just trying to restore order.

King George's order.

Pound sand if you don't like it.

This was nothing less than a self-serving video stalking and assault on these officers, by a videographer and his buddy.
What is missing in both the explanation, or in the original footage is what time this incident occurred.
Wan't it about two weeks ago that somone approached and killed two police officers in Virginia , with no provocation ?


Wasn't to have a real treat ?

The british government thought Adams was so obnoxious that they put a warrant out for his arrest. He was die a traitor's death. You don't get that for perfect Sunday School attendance.

Your Disney version of the founding is far from the mark.
