US urges ‘both sides’ to avoid civilian casualties; injuries in Sderot, Beersheba
Times of Israel ^ | 7/11/4 | Ricky Ben-David, Lazar Berman and Haviv Rettig

Four days into Operation Protective Edge, over 400 rockets have been fired at Israel, and several Israelis were injured during Friday, even as Iron Dome intercepted most rockets heading into residential areas. The Israeli Air Force has carried out over 1,000 airstrikes on the Gaza Strip; Palestinian reports say at least 100 Palestinians have been killed. Prime Minister Netanyahu says all Gaza casualties are the fault and responsibility of Hamas, which uses Gazans as human shields while Israel does its best to avoid hitting civilians. Netanyahu also says the operation will continue until longterm calm is guaranteed for Israel’s citizens. The Times of Israel is liveblogging events as they unfold. (Thursday’s liveblog is here.)

The Muslims have been firing rockets into Israeli civilian areas for what - about a year now?

Who in the State Department can fail to understand that the Muslims WANT to inflict civilian casualties?

No warnings as long as the damage was taking place in Israel.

Now all of a sudden, everyone is a humanitarian.

Bull Stuff!

Yep, a pretty ASSanine statement out of BO.

If Hamas didn’t target civilians, who would they shoot at?
What would be the point of even BEING Hamas?

Obama is sinking lower and lower in approval polls. People say this doesn’t matter because he isn’t up for reelection. It actually matters quite a bit. Notice how desperately his fellow Democrats, up for reelection in tight races, avoid appearing on the same stage with him. Notice also that even the timid Boehner is talking about a lawsuit against Obama. It might not be much, but it’s far more than Boehner would do if Obama’s numbers were higher.

Right now at RealClearPolitics. Obama’s approval stands at 40.9—less than one point from the dread thirties. His gap between approval & disapproval is 13.5. What’s even more devastating is that the strong disapproval dwarfs the strong approval. Obama is politically toxic right now. He can fulminate against Israel, but he cannot rally congress against her. If his approval does dip into the thirties—as it well may—the backlash against him will be severe. Israel, meanwhile, will emerge from this even stronger. When people viscerally despise your enemy, it can only redound to a person’s, or a country’s, benefit.

This whole thing reminds me of kids alright.

You’ve got the older kid who is a foot taller than the other. Instead of him picking on his little brother, the older kid generally shows restraint.

The younger smaller child has no respect for the other child or his belongings. He’s always breaking things. He gets physical too. When he does, the older boy goes to the mom for help.

Mom says something to the effect of, “Now older son, you know he’s a little kid. You have to be patient. He isn’t grown up yet. Be a good boy for mom.”

Finally the older kid gets a belly full of it, and one day after the last straw he clobbers the little asshole.

All of a sudden mom is outraged. She calls both kids in and demands they be nice to each other. She doesn’t address what the younger kid has been doing at all.

So it starts all over again, the younger kid never to be confronted on his actions, the older kid the only one required to keep himself in check.

Dumb ass mom. Stupid ass global population, that allows the Palestinians to play the role of this younger spoiled brat.

Older son, Israel, kick the living s—t out of anything (read that terrorist related) that moves. Green light!

The operation will end when Hamas runs out of rockets. That may sound like a joke, but it isn’t. That’s what Israel is doing - totally depleting Hamas’ stockpiles of rockets!

That would make sense. Let Obama’s homies run out of rockets, then move in and take care of business.
