Apparently under Obamacare you are covered until you make a claim, then you can be cancelled retroactively.

I BLAME DEMOCRAT VOTERS!

Why not? Under this administration, freedom is routinely cancelled retroactively.

sent them a letter last month telling them that their insurance coverage has been canceled retroactively, back to the first day of the year

Because that's the way contracts work.

This kind of stuff is why people loath insurance companies.

And yet the torches and pitchforks still do not blanket the streets of America.

What will it take?

Ubama decided that contracts don't mean anything when he gave the rights of GM's secured bondholders to the UAW.

Everything else is just gravy.

I had a similar (but not nearly as expensive) experience with Anthem under my Obamacare policy. My wife was referred to a new physician for her physical condition and she confirmed twice that her visits with him would be covered and Anthem also confirmed to the Doctor’s office that his treatment would be covered. Relying on this, she had two office visits and followed up with the RX and treatment prescribed. After the expenses were incurred, Anthem said they were denying the claim they had previously approved. We are appealing this now.

THAT was in Obamacare??? Hmmm, I guess it would have helped to read the bill before you take a vote on it.

"‘Well, we can cancel people whenever we want. We can do whatever we want,’"

My, my; that sounds like it came straight from Valerie Jarrett.

She was charged $80,000 for a three night stay in a hospital because of anemia. Beside the insurance cancellation, there is an unstated other problem, $26,700 per night for anemia? Can anyone say cost shifting from those who pay insurance to the hordes of illegals who get free care.

I have not read the article, but carriers do this when there is fraud in the inception of the contract.

How childish and venal that sounds; “We can do whatever we want!”.

If I go to a provider and my insurance is confirmed, that’s final as far as I’m concerned. Let the provider sue the insurance company for confirming the coverage.

then you can be cancelled retroactively. —

Remember the scheme to wait till you were sick, then go sign up; regardless of preexisting conditions?

Citizens couldn’t, but now the insurers can?

Sounds like State Farm. I was talking about insurance with our pediatrician recently. She was telling me how State Farm dropped her and her husband when they made a glass claim on their auto insurance. Then they dropped them from their homeowners policy for making a claim.
