They declared his property a wetland, so removing rainwater is “endangering” it. It doesn’t matter that the fire department relies on his supply of water as an emergency backup.

He is not an innocent, or a victim.

Water rights and the laws involving them are complex, but they have existed for centuries for a reason.

In the Founders' day, a farmer who dammed up a creek to prevent his neighbors herds or crops from being watered would be in a heap of legal trouble.

I used to collect the snowmelt to use for watering my carnivorous plant terrarium for my kids many years ago.

Better lock me up.

Didn’t they have a bucket brigade protest some years back over silly regs? Do we need a rain barrel one too?

THis is sickening, we have become a nation that is nitpicking itself to death.

So that county has 90 days at wha? 100 dollars a day to waste incarcerating him?

This story is almost 2 years old. Why is Gateway Pundit posting it now?

I have thought of building a “stealth water reclamation system into my gutters to siphon it into the backyard into a giant tank for use for watering my lawn.

Just the water off my roof mind you.

Oregon is a heavy leftist state.

I’m curious who this fellow has voted for over the years.

I don’t know, they have two vastly different stories. They say he’s diverting a stream, which means he’s not in jail for collecting rain water. In AZ they prefer you collect rain water, better than running off with whatever pollution it collected from your property.

Harrington should go to jail on this issue.

Just because water runs through his property does not give him the right to do whatever you want with that water, build reservoirs to dam it up, and keep it from flowing to his neighbors.

“I’m sacrificing my liberty so we can stand up as a country and stand for our liberty,”

Sorry Gary but you're gonna have to stand alone on this one. This is the heart of little league and soccer season and the patriots have their hands full with practices and weekend games with their kids. Not to mention mortgages and payments on their new trucks and boats

Maybe they can get something together in September..........Hang in there Gary!

Rain or snow that falls on a property in dry parts of the West does not run downhill to any stream on another property. It evaporates very quickly instead and falls hundreds of miles downwind. Commie NIMBYs seek to control and/or own properties that they did not pay for by their sneaky and evil conspiracies with corrupt state and local governments. They develop jealousies against their neighbors’ energy and willingness to do some work outdoors and hate their neighbors for not being as short, troll-like and generally repulsive as themselves.
