The dreams of millions of Brazilian football fans have been left in tatters as Germany beat the host nation a 7-1 in the World Cup semi-final.

Spectators inside in The Mineirao Stadium in Belo Horizonte were in tears as their side succumbed to the humiliating defeat, ending dreams of a title on home soil.

The side were booed off following the disappointing performance, the biggest defeat in a World Cup semi-final and Brazil's worst defeat in their history.

Brazil folded after the second goal. Germany proceeded to put on a clinic.

I’ve never seen anything like it. You don’t even see dominance like that when a world power plays a much weaker opponent. These were two of the best teams of all time. It was a complete dominance like I’ve never seen.

I like to think that a goal in soccer is worth about 10 points in football, it might even be worth more.....

This would roughly equate to a 70-10 ass whoopin. This is unheard of, I am shocked.

After flipping through the pictures on the DailyMail site, I have to say some people take their keekball games way too seriously.
The looks of grief were as if they lost a favorite relative, or something...

On Germany’s 4th goal three players could have scored.

I wonder if American liberals will shame Germany for running up the score.

Football (soccer) is a veritable folk-religion in Brazil. They take it very, VERY seriously. It’s like a matter of national pride; losing as they did tonight - an absolute stomping on their home turf no less - is for many Brazilians a profound emotional shock.

Yeah, it’s just a game. But for Brazilians, it’s a lot more than just a game.

They could have scored more if they wanted to.

Its amazing how devastated the Brazilian fans look. Its just a game.

I read that security escorted German fans out of the stadium after the ass-whooping.

They're supposed to put the vanishing cream on the pitch, not the players...

If you're in tears after watching a game, what do you do when something really bad happens?
