I’ll bet drinking whiskey makes one a conservative.
no it doesnt. i know plenty of conservatives who choose a natural plant over the demon alcohol.
$26.50 for 2 grams is some pricy weed, grow your own.
You are repeating hippie New Left propaganda from the 60’s and 70’s.
You probably don’t even know it.
And importantly, it is not true.
You sound rather delusional, have a doobie.
Cannabinoids regulate practically every body system. Banning cannabis effectively banned the study of plant cannabinoids. A crime against humanity to prop up the opium industry.
“no it doesnt. i know plenty of conservatives who choose a natural plant over the demon alcohol.”
I don’t believe you.
I believe you are deliberately lying. When not, you are mischaracterizing conservative.
I know Tim Leary, Bill Ayers hippie New Left propaganda because I’ve heard it my whole life.
Having people spew it forth on a conservative forum doesn’t make it anymore true now than it ever was.
I don't deny that (but the argument is pretty variable when applied to various species of mushrooms). The problem is always abuse, and dependency or even addiction in the case of the first two.
You're just spouting ideological rhetoric.
This entire sentence is pabulum, no truth in in at all because there is no substance:
“Cannabis is a highly medicinal plant with more active compounds than any other. Our body uses internal cannabinoids for practically every function and the cannabis plant is very symbiotic with mammals and birds.”
It is rhetoric without understanding or knowledge.
It is the stoner fantasy. Dope is good for everything. It’s magic, will save the world.
By the way, there are chemically no internal cannabinoids.
They are called that for the sake of description and categorization, but it is not meant literally.
Cannabinoid affect certain receptors that are wide spread throughout brain and body and disrupt the normal function of these receptors and various systems they regulate.
They are a toxin that does have a use in lowering intraoccular pressure in people with glaucoma.
The mental toxic effects, for which it is most abused, are insidious.
No. I am not.
The drug epidemic that began in the 60’s was pushed by the New Left for a reason.
Does anyone seriously think dopers are conservative?
Smoking dope affects the brain and does increase susceptibility to certain types of thinking associated with left and liberal ideas.
“...Several dozen people waited outside before the doors opened...”
The rest of the folk were sitting on the couch, hitting the bong, eating oreos, and watching cartoons.
KYPD
Yes, it does seem to have long-term negative effects on still-developing brains. As far as "susceptibility to certain types of thinking associated with left and liberal ideas", I don't know. Maybe. College kids tend to be that way anyway.
If I try marijuana and lose my strong pro-life, traditional family, and Christian orientations, I'll let you know. At age 59 I doubt that is going to be the case. Not aware of any drug that would do this except for something like scopolamine that would make one extremely suggestible for a short period of time.
I watched the opening on KING5 news.
I basically can take it or leave it.
But it is in fact a very good general purpose analgesic, and helps greatly with the aches and pains of getting older.
“William F. Buckley was a toker and it didnt seem to affect his intellect.”
I could not find anything where it stated W.F. Buckley smoked pot...not to say he didn’t. But I did find this quote:
“Marijuana never kicks down your door in the middle of the night.
Marijuana never locks up sick and dying people,
does not suppress medical research,
does not peek in bedroom windows.
Even if one takes every reefer madness allegation
of the prohibitionists at face value,
marijuana prohibition has done far more harm
to far more people than marijuana ever could.”

When you say "dopers" that implies chronic use and that recreational drugs are central to their lifestyle. That is bad regardless of political orientation.
I don't believe you can say that occasional users are all liberal. That just isn't true.
As an aside, I know of meth users who are very conservative on every other topic. They get caught up in an addictive drug and it doesn't matter what their political orientation is.
That is why I want to purchase an amount of the Indica strain (which is best for that) and put it away until needed. But, unfortunately, I guess virtually all of the retail product being grown in WA legally is hybrid Indica/Sativa. Not sure about the medical marijuana strains.
Supporting the War On (Some) Drugs turns so-called conservatives into hyprocrites.
Your comments I think are well meant but rather specious.
If you were to begin smoking dope on a regular basis, it would definitely be due to a change in life and it would cause your thinking and worldview to change.
But given your life history and faith in Christ, it’s doubtful you’d fall apart like this.
BTW, scopolamine just puts one out if their mind for a large period of time at high doses. Not enough connection to reality is maintained for it to be used as you suggest.
But any drug can be used for brainwashing type applications.
Regarding medical marijuana strains: Did you see the recent article where a person was denied her concealed permit somewhere in Washington State because she had a medical marijuana permit? So that’s not an option.
I will agree with a differentiation between dopers and occasional users.
Yet, I would still say the overwhelming majority of the latter are liberal.
It is a two pronged effect. An underlying liberal bias is associated with the decision to use the drug, and use of the drug reinforces and strengthens the underlying liberalism.
Interestingly, the dopers may have a higher percentage of what we could consider nominal conservatives than the occasional users.
Truth be told, there aren’t really many occasional users.
