FULL TITLE: Rick Perry Rejects Obama’s Offer to Shake His Hand on the Tarmac — Here’s the Texas Governor’s Counteroffer
Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) has reportedly rejected President Barack Obama’s offer to briefly shake hands when Air Force One lands in Austin on Wednesday. Instead, the governor came back with a counteroffer.
“I appreciate the offer to greet you at Austin-Bergstrom Airport, but a quick handshake on the tarmac will not allow for a thoughtful discussion regarding the humanitarian and national security crises enveloping the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas,” Perry wrote in a letter to Obama. “I would instead offer to meet with you at any time during your visit to Texas for a substantive meeting to discuss this critical issue.”

When is Perry going to declare a health emergency and quarantine those areas with the illegals?
As Governor of Texas he can do that...it would make it difficult to transport the illegals thru Texas

I have no sympathy for Perry. He’s using this invasion for political benefit. Maybe he’s the king of running for president again.
I’m sure there are actions Perry could take. Maybe call out the National Guard. Maybe a legal section against the feds. Seems to me all Perry wants to do is talk.

Really? The “one” actually puts out a feeler to see if the guy whose state he’s destroying wants to shake hands?
I will NEVER vote for that fat slob Chris Christie who not only shook Obama’s hand but HUGGED HIM and gave a photo that went around the country days before the presidential election. It made Obama look like he was actually capable of governing and reaching across the aisle.

Maybe after Perry talks with him he will be able to rule out the “inept” possibility and determine that the invasion was intentional, and therefore treasonous.
By the way, has anyone determined the payment that went to Mexico for this? Payments to Central American nations that were then kicked back to Mexico somehow? Funds disguised as something else?

If the GOP plays this right this will be Obama’s equivalent of George Bush flying over Katrina damage. A major crisis and all Obama wants to do, at best, is take a 10,000 foot view of it? The campaign commercials write themselves.

In the spirit of Southern hospitality if Perry does in fact meet the First Muslim, he should shake hands. However, I think Perry should skip the meet altogether. Tell Zero that Perry has to ‘rearrange the icons on his desktop’, which is far more important than wasting time with the current resident of the Tan Hut.
