Agree. The issuance of state driver licenses is subject to various state laws.

After having FL driver license for 35 years, I recently had to show a US birth certificate to renew.

As you said, AZ should refuse, it would violate their laws.

I had to show proof of citizenship to get my AZ license 2 months ago. I used my US passport. My wife had to show proof of permanent residency. This makes me think that the DMV will drop these requirements after this decision, but who will make that order?

We’ll see how it plays out. My wife was not allowed to apply for voter registration at the DMV. I was allowed to apply with my US passport.
