Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich doesn't seem to share the view of many of his fellow Republicans that Democrats are happy to see the flood of illegal immigrants crossing the border.
"I doubt very much if Sen. Dianne Feinstein who authored that particular amendment to the bill that passed in 2008 meant for it to potentially next year have 140,000 people – legally – crossing the border under the law," Gingrich said Sunday on ABC's "This Week."
But Gingrich also said something must be done to curb the rise in illegal border crossers. The number of unaccompanied minors from Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras crossing the border from Mexico has doubled since last year, with more than 52,000 caught since October.

The lack of action to stop the flood of immigrants on local and federal level is proof enough to me that there’s a conspiracy. The country is ruled by fascists, liars all.

I think he is right. Dianne Feinstein did likely not have anything to do with this invasion. But it is a certainty that Obama’s thugs did invite this situation with malice towards our country.
Funny how liberal policies and actions can bring about human misery and national disaster, and not be dropped on the liberal doorstep, because we see no conspiracy; hear no conspiracy, and speak no conspiracy. Lax border enforcement coupled with the Dream Act and visions of amnesty were bound to end like this, and there were Democrat and Republican leftists who knew it. A lot of politicians and leftist social planners conspired to give us the situation we have right now.

His political maneuvering is so good 95% of the time, and so bad 5% of the time.
It wasn’t the 2008 bill. It was Obama’s backdoor amnesty of 2012 for the Dreamers (DACA) that set the stage for what is happening now.
This from the guy who in 2012 wanted amnesty.
Let’s not forget Newt is now on the CNN payroll, so he’ll mcuh to the beat of a different drum.

Tht border has been there for around 200 years.
Problems with crime & drugs south of that border have been in place for over 60 years.
Never had this problem before.

Actually, I think Newt’s right. This is an Obama action, not something where the Dems even made a pretense of voting in a bill, and I think a lot of them in that area are finding it a nightmare for their states. It’s making them very unpopular, and the only person who doesn’t care is Herr Dictator himself.
The left is very good at exploiting splits in the GOP, and we should start trying to exploit splits in the Dems. And this is a split - I read that two SW Dems, a mayor and a congressman, criticized Obama publicly on a TV show this morning. That’s a start.
