I just had to click on this to see what the NY Times considers an IRS scandal.
Cry me a river!!! -- Read the article, you have to read it to get the full effect -- it laments the cut in the funding of the IRS!

They need to cut if 50%, and if they chose not to collect from “the rich” like Warren Buffet, that is a CHOICE.

“OK....it looks like all of the agencies have representatives here. Now, what can each of our federal agencies do to help the Democrat Party today? IRS?”
“We can go after conservatives.”
“Good! That’s the spirit!”

the income tax w/the IR$..repeal 16th & 17th admt..restrict the gov't. to 15% of NGDP.
eliminate useless federal bureaucracies..DeathCARE/EPA/OSHA/BLM/HHS..etc..

If that doesn't shock you enough, read the comments of the readers of this rag. They are all in love with the IRS. They think the IRS is the greatest thing since Obama took office.

This is what they do to the Benghazi story. They blame it on republicans for not having given money for security
If some patriotic conservative runs ( patriotic - meaning doesn’t care what the NYT says) on a ‘let’s get rid of the IRS’ message, what will the NYT do?

Shutting down conservative political organizations in advance of the 2010 and 2012 elections was a partisan witchhunt designed to sway both elections.

Since the broad Tea Party-driven spending cuts of 2010...Didn't the Democrats control the House, Senate and White House in 2010?
How do they get away with this crap?
To: Innovative
Better yet, let's get rid of the 16th Amendment and go back to the original Constitution.
Institute a national sales tax and eliminate the IRS all together. The states can use their infrastructure to collect the tax and send the proceeds directly to the Treasury in Washington.
Who needs the IRS anyway? Only politicians who want to manipulate the tax code for their friends and votes!!

Since the broad Tea Party-driven spending cuts of 2010, the agencys budget has been cut by 14 percent after inflation is considered... I smell "base line budgeting" with a little inflation exaggeration.
The budget cutters are also trying to prevent the agency from performing its new job of collecting higher taxes on the rich to pay for health care reform, and distributing health insurance subsidies for low- and moderate-income people, many of whom will now be covered for the first time.
That is plain pandering to stupid people, the dem base.

So let me get the Times’ hidden implication straight. If we raise the IRS budget, they’ll stop breaking the law. Right? hmm... I’ll have to think about that next time I vote.

16,000 new agents in the wake of obamacare is a cut?
The only meaningful cut of the IRS would be total abolition. They are the US Gestapo.

Due to the dramatic increase in online tax-filing, costs SHOULD be falling.
Why should we care?????
