Dinesh DSouzas movie is doing great at the box office, having already earned enough to cover its budget.
From WND:
NEW YORK Early reports from its debut weekend indicate Dinesh DSouzas new documentary America is opening with a strong box office nationwide.
Preliminary box-office counts indicate America is overall No. 3 in per screen average attendance in the United States and No. 10 in overall box-office receipts, a position considered strong in that America is opening on only 1,000 screens nationwide, in competition with films opening on more than 3,000 screens.
Box-office returns for America on Friday were up 60 percent from Thursday, with competitors, Tammy up only 17 percent, Earth to Echo up 5 percent and Deliver Us From Evil down 5 percent.
Producers of America have reported to WND that people in the theaters are crying upon viewing the film and breaking out spontaneously into the national anthem.
Who says patriotism cant be successful at the theaters?
There is a huge opportunity here.
Quickly produce several hundred thousand DVDs, then advertise on conservative websites that for just $5, including S&H, a DVD will be mailed to a family of their choice. It will be a “full frame” version for television viewing.
This won’t hurt DVD and Blu-Ray sales, and may even increase them, as people prefer Widescreen and bonus materials.
We all applauded after the movie. I may be a Bono fan after this movie.
D”Souza did a very nice job of presenting Truth to the Alinsky, Zinn, etc. lies, and indoctrination of our children.
We really need government OUT of “education”. As JS Mill stated, and he was correct: Government control of schools will only create slaves for the State.
And how does Dinesh feel about when one of the Muslims he constantly defends (Obama's Freudian slip)might have him thrown him in prison?
Wonder how that “comedy” about abortion is doing . . .
I love FREEPERS.....so funny. Tammy has made 18 million on a 20 million dollar budget. 22 Jump Street has made 150 million on a 50 million dollar budget. The Fault of the stars has made 114 million on a 12 million dollar budget. America has made 2 million on a what budget?
I would rather have made The Fault in the Stars than America to be honest with you....at least financially.
I just saw the movie. It was very well done. Only one minor error that I noticed—in a scene set in 1831, a congregation is singing the hymn “Eternal Father, Strong to Save,” written in 1861.
I’m surprised bad guys like Ward Churchill and Eric Dyson allowed him to interview them.
Always have been a Bono/U2 fan. Now this will make my support even more solid.
Wow! $909/screen. #3. That is better than could be hoped.
More theaters should pick up the movie now. It's outstanding. Try to bring a friend or relative, or buy the DVD for a friend or relative, especially young skulls full of mush.
I once heard and interview with Dinesh. He said he kept asking himself, "What can I do?" He found a good answer.
freep the imdb rating...
